213 lbs today - down another pound. I have to admit that a diet of meat and eggs, while it seems to work, is very hard for me to sustain. I find it particularly hard to consume so much meat (I have never been a big meat eater). Last night at dinner time, I had to cut back a bit on the meatballs so I had 9 instead of 12 and 2 eggs instead of three. What I believe is working in the Steak/ Eggs approach is that it keep you full longer and you consume less calories overall. I am averaging around 1200-1300 with most of that being fat and protein. The ratio is about 65% Fat /30% Protein/5% carbs. I started on Wednesday and lost 2 lbs so far. I will continue for the full 7 days but I am not sure I can do another week - I need a break. I find myself obsessed with vegetables - I am thinking about them constantly even though I am not hungry. I should have had more water than I did - I averaged around 32 ozs per day (not including 1-2 cups of tea) - not easy on the bowels (sorry for being indelicate). I believe that coming off this approach I have a big appreciation for the impact of meat on the appetite (it really works). I also know it would be hard for me personally to keep it up long term (I am getting really crabby - I really need the veggies to balance me out!). However, I will finish this stint. Afterwards, I am looking forward to eating at least 15 g of low carb veggies next Wednesday.

I think the most workable approach for me is increased protein and my carbs coming from veggies. I have to keep my calories low ... even lower than I thought (less than 1400)! Right now, I am full of angus beef (ugh!) - I didn't even bother making the eggs to go along with it but if I feel hungry later on, I will whip up some scrambled eggs and call it a day! Here is today's food:

B: 9 small meatballs and 3 fried eggs, peppermint tea
L: 8 ozs Grilled Angus Steak, peppermint tea
D: if hungry ... 3 eggs (scrambled)
Water: 32 ozs aiming for 64

Jenn, did I miss a post you made about why you are only eating steak and eggs? Veggies are carbs and you need to eat a lot more than 15g carbs a day. Not sure if you are on a special diet or what? Congrats on the loss.

Hi Mom: I missed a few days of posting so I am not sure I had mentioned it. I decided to do a trial of Steak and Eggs low carb approach for a week to see how I responded to it and if it broke my stall. While it did break my stall, I discovered it's not for me because it's just way too much meat. I also miss veggies too much and it will take all my effort to finish the week (I will do it just to come full circle with the experiment and wrap it up in a nice finished package). I have discovered that when my carbs go beyond a certain amount I stall, so I have to keep them at about 20 - 25. It's just about me trying different things to find my "ish" .... I have established that it's not meat and eggs! :)

Okay, I understand now. I suppose I would not like eating that much steak although I could probably manage the eggs. You could have chosen fish, or chicken, yes? It is much lighter and easier to digest. I love red meat, but I can't eat it everyday.

Try the Dr Oz Rapid wieght loss diet. Its pretty easy. And I dont eat everything, I could. And actually cheated a couple days and lost 7 pounds in the past 2 1/2 weeks. I just looked it up on DrOz.com. And its not expensive. Normal foods.
