Weight is down further. It isn't Monday though so I'm sticking to my plan to only log weight on Monday. That plan was really created so that I wouldn't obsess over the scale daily but I still find myself jumping on the scale on non-weigh in mornings from time to time.

I had a fantastic day yesterday. I got into a pair of jeans that I hadn't been able to wear for years. Then, I reached into the jean pocket to find six bucks! Wahoo! Serendipity! I used the entire six bucks to buy a powerball ticket. Let's see if the luck held out!

I took the kids shopping yesterday and out to lunch at Outback. Started my IF 24 hour day as of shortly after lunch yesterday as I skipped dinner entirely. I'm still within my IF 24 hours currently and I'm not feeling overwhelmingly hungry yet but I am looking forward to eating a little earlier than dinner time.

Hair Problems. I've been noticing a lot of hair loss in the last month. I feel silly even complaining about it at this point as it isn't like I'm going bald (yet). With my Italian heritage I could still give Cousin It a run for his money. But, I am leaving hair everywhere. I could never commit a murder because my hair would shed at the scene leaving my DNA everywhere. In any event, yesterday I freaked out my kids. I was trying on some boots (I never can get boots to fit over my calf even with all the weight loss) and when I stood up from the chair where I was trying on yet another pair of boots that were not going to fit, I left behind a huge lock of hair. Not a couple strands. More akin to a clip in hair weave. It is releasing from the root as it still appears to have a bulb on it rather than just normal breakage. The texture of my hair looks fine...still shiney, etc. but it just comes out in handfuls these days. I haven't changed shampoos/conditioner/products/brushes or anything else. I feel like I am eating plenty of healthy fats. I do use aragon oil in my hair just to keep it orderly, but I started using it long before I started losing weight. I do not feel that I am taking in enough protein. So I am going to try to find some creative ways to take in more protein without resorting to shakes that are full of carbs. I will add this to my diet and see if there is any change in the next thirty (30) days. If not, I am going to go back to a doctor to get my thyroid levels checked. I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and pcos. But, I had kind of hoped I dieted myself right on out of both conditions by now. I don't really want to explain to a doctor that I self-discontinued Synthroid because of my innate feeling that doctors and big pharmaceuticals are in bed together...and then have to concede that maybe I was wrong and I actually need Synthroid even after losing 60+ pounds. I need to make a decision I guess: Go bald or admit I may be wrong. Right now, my pride tells me to find a new way to choke down some extra protein. This is obviously putting a big hold on going vegetarian as I know that cutting out meat is going to make it even more difficult to get in enough protein---unless I do shakes. I get that there are a few shakes out there that are fairly low in net carbs. I may give them a try, but I would much rather get protein from a natural source like chicken breast or Lobster (Oh, wait...I forgot that I didn't marry into wealth)...I mean, canned tuna.

Covered 5 miles last night. It was nice and easy most of the run. At one point my pace was a 12:30 mile which isn't terribly fast, but it was a personal record for that particular mile that includes two pretty large hills. I did run/walk intervals that consisted last night of running a mile or so straight through and then walking a quarter mile between starting my next interval. I feel that it is really increasing my pace time and so far I am injury free even when I have ran consecutive days. Triathlon training has taken a backseat though. I really prefer running (even in 20 degree weather) over sitting on a stationary bike and pedaling for an hour. I think I have only biked maybe once this week. There is a sprint triathlon in September that I intend on competing in, but I need to get in some swim lessons to help me with proper form before hand. There are no indoor pools within a 45 minute drive of me so I may take a couple lessons on a weekend when I have time to make the drive and then I guess I will start practicing the swim portion in the lake starting in June. I honestly feel that the most intimidating part is the bicycle. I still need to purchase a road bike. I'm not putting out big bucks for a triathlon bike for my first race because I want to ensure it is something I enjoy before I invest in it. I also forgot to do my boot camp strength training and my second S7 exercises for this past week. Guess that is what I will do today to get back on track.

Ok, that's the plan. Enjoy the rest of your weekend FS!

2mc sweetheart, that is definitely a sign you need to take your synthroid. I take it, and I know what you mean. I have lost 66 pounds, and I still have to take it. I don't like taking it either, but I have to. I can say that I no longer have to take my BP meds, or the cholesterol meds, thanks to the loss. Unfortunately, I will still have to take the thyroid meds. Oh well, to me its a trade off!! I understand what you mean by the big pharma comment. Most pills pushed are just that, imho, but with your continued and accelerating loss, I think you had better get back on them. I got some great protien mix from GNC. Its called About Time, real low in carbs, around 23 mg of protein, mixes with water if you w3ant and tastes good. No added synthetic sweeteners, etc. really clean. I got the chocolate, but tried the cupcake flavor and its great! glad you are having fun with the exercising!! Run that mile for me in 12:00!! Hugs to you!! (((2MC)))

Might check your vitamins on the hair loss. I find I have the same thing happen.

I have not been taking any vitamins. I had just figured that since I am eating so many more fruits and vegetables, I was surely getting plenty of vitamins. I may try to add a one a day in addition to eating more protein.

Hair loss is a major issue for me. They claim losing weight will cause it, but at the same time, I'm on thyroid meds and recently saw a natropath/hormone specialist and her immediate recommendation for hair loss was to up my Omega 3. One ingredient in particular in the capsule. EPA. Need to take between 1500-1800mg/daily. For me, I take 2 capsules in the morning and 1 in the evening.
