Stupid early dinner.

When he was working (which he currently is not), my husband would be up at 3am, out the door at 5am, and in bed usually by 8pm. Dinner was around 5pm.

When his parents (who share our home) were working, they had similar schedules. They have both been retired for several years now, and with Covid they pretty much stay home constantly. Apparently this makes them really hungry, and they require dinner at 4:30pm. This is just crazy early.

So on to our family argument. The way school works here right now (Covid-style), the kids have a 2-hr class in person from 8:30-10:30, then a half hour "nutrition break," followed by another 2-hr class. Our son has said many times that he's not hungry at 10:30, so will eat the (big) lunch his Dad packs after school at 1:30. I rarely am hungry at my break time, so I will eat whatever lunch I've got at 1:30 as well. Today, I got home at around 3:30pm, and hubby was already making dinner. It was served at 4:15. I wasn't even close to hungry, and our boys were also not hungry. But Hubby's feelings were hurt, for goodness sake! Also, he was really hungry, because he's eating on a very different schedule to ours.

I am hoping that our sons pointing out the timing of dinner, so soon after lunch, being nuts helps hubby get it figured out. Arguing because he's sure we're all starving when really we are too full to eat is lunacy.
