Looking so forward to my new gadget with the new microsoft office. Am working on getting my kitchen and house more orgainized. Plan is to learn the new excel (my old pc had 2001 version) and set up a workable inventory for my frig, freezer, and pantry. Used to be in the restaurant business--have deciced my kitchen needs to be treated more like one. It will cut down on waste and help my budget. That will all make it easier to plan meals and manage my time better.

What a great idea! I'm starting anew tomorrow when my daughter and her boyfriend head home. How do you handle all the holiday leftovers?

Really don't have any. Will have a few after next sat. Spent xmas @ 2 of my daughter's homes. Will have all 3 and 7 of the grandkids here next sat. Kids have asked for pulled pork sandwiches. Will cook a bunch of boneless pork shoulder -- hopefully slow smoked on the grill or if too cold in the oven, cole slaw, potato salad, and a fruit salad. With homemade rolls. Will send most of the rolls, fruit salad, and potato salad leftovers if any home with the girls. With the pork i'll freeze some in chicken or veggie stock and make a batch of tamales. Don't do deserts. Soup is always a good option. Another is to make your own frozen entrees and sides. I do that all of the time. Just me and i've never learned to cook some things for one person. I live alone. Just make sure they are wrapped properly, labeled and dated. Am in the middle of pureeing bananas that i will freeze in 3 oz paper cups for s My morning smoothies. Grandkids also raid them when they are here.
