Well I have struggled for years because I take prednisone and it makes me puff up like a pumpkin and it is very difficult to lose weight. It goes in my body directly like sugar. I have several autoimmune disorders and when I don't take steroids my body flares up with inflammation. That in itself creates more issues for me. I have finally let it all go and decided it is what it is and I don't have power to control that. At the rate I am losing weight it will be a couple of years before I reach my goal weight. Maybe by that time some of these issues will resolve themselves.

I hear you my friend. I have SLE Lupus and 6 other autoimmune disorders myself. I have to take hydrocortisone for adrenal issues. I only take prednisone maybe 3 times a year. I’m like you. The struggle is very real. I have to use Lasix to help with the inflammation. I don’t take it daily unless I gain. I wish you the best. It will take me another year to reach my goal as well, but I won’t give up. I’m taking care of what’s left. I’ve come a very long way, not in weight, but in physical well being for real. Take care and hang in there! 💯💜🤗🌈

Thank you for writing ocean lady. Not that I wish this on anyone, but it does help to know somebody out there understands. I have struggled for so long. Everything is so hard. I need to get my weight down another 60 lb and I'm still obese. But it's better than where I am now. I am diabetic and I also have lupus, rheumatoid, fibromyalgia, vasculitis, & several toes amputated. I am feeling you friend

You are welcome. Many here know or have autoimmune. It’s no fun. I can lose to my goal and still be considered obese. It’s vital though and I’m trying. Changing my diet completely has helped me so much. I’m considered an incomplete paraplegic, and was in a wheelchair and on a walker. Now I walking without aid at home and around the stables. I need my chair for distance, but I’m doing so much better! My drs are really dumbfounded. Keep trying. My motto-Never give up-Neber stop smiling! 💜🌈 Best wishes always.

On st,eroids does make it harder also harder to maintain. You can do this! It just, takes finding a way that works for you. I am on them for asthma. To lose for me it's 1200 calories and exercise. To maintain 1400 calories and exercise. Any change in that i gain.

I am also on Prednisone and I know your pain literally. I have RA. it does make it really hard to lose weight. I am losing slowly about a lb. a week. I hit a palteau this week and lost none. but I'm not giving up going to keep trying. Just keep going

Slow is good. Nutrient dense whole foods, not processed help. Processed foods have a lot of salts and hidden sugars even those touted to be "healthy".
