Now I've got a chellenge for the next 5 days, a friend is coming to stay with us. He is a carer for his wife, she is only 56. Three years ago she had an aneruism (sorry about the spelling) which has left her without any short term memory, she's now partly blind and without any hibitions at all. She's not a well lady. She always been a very fit lady, but she was a smoker, the doctors think this caused the damage. So for a week she is going into care to give our friend a bit of a break. He loves coming to stay with us as he enjoys home cooking, he now has to be the cook for both of them, but he says it's not the same. So tomorrow there will be bread in the house and some potatoes. I can cook potatoes for him during dinner, and he will be able to have bread at breakfast. I'm sure he be able to eat exactly the same of what we will be eating.

I'll probably lose my husband over the next few days to the snooker club! He's been there before and drank water! Unheard of a few months back.

Hope everyone has a great and successful weekend!

hang in there jen and try the mock potatoes! if you are cooking real ones for him it will help you be less tempted to take a nibble! cualiflower cream cheese sour cream and bacon bits! they are actually better than real potatoes!

Jen, just add your own Atkins-friendly veggies to the menu, so you have other stuff to eat. I've got kids who eat potatoes, make sandwiches, eat pita bread, etc, so my house is full of non-Atkins foods, but that doesn't bother me as long as I can fill up on my foods.

You can do it Jen. Another thing you can have is the little white turnips. They are delicious. When everyone here is having potatoes, that is what I make for myself. 3 minutes in the microwave, butter, salt and pepper or what ever you enjoy on them and your done. Enjoy your company and have a great week-end.:)
