Sandy701's Journal, 08 Aug 13

As I type this, there's thunder in the distance. Seems like it's been somewhere, out there, for at least an hour or so. I'll be watching the radar carefully because I've got an assortment of meat destined for the grill TODAY! I took advantage of being all slathered up with insect repellent to get the grill set up (old burned stuff out, new charcoal in, etc.) so all I have to do is douse it with starter and light the thing whenever I'm ready.

This morning was the usual....UGH a 10....so doggies only went .8 miles before I brought them home. I finished up the rest of the 3.1-mile route by myself...nice and sweaty by the time I got home. Sometimes this gets boring, even if I change up the streets, but at least I can listen to really good music from a local radio station. Sometimes, they'll be playing favorite after favorite on the weekends and I lament that they're using up all the good stuff (LOL!) and it will only leave me 80's - 90's pop for the week (NOT my favorite). Just give me some moldy oldies and I'm a happy camper!

Nothing else much is going on....just the typical preoccupation with this WOE. The good news is that despite a side trip into PB Land, I'm still down over a pound this week and hoping to make it further still. I'm SO-O-O-O tired of this decade! But I'm the only one who can move on out of it, so trying very hard to keep the focus.

Thanks Aggie. Unfortunately, the pound I lost doesn't want to stay "lost!" - LOL!! But I can always hope that THIS time is the last time.

Slow and steady wins the race :) I never keep my pound lost, it always spikes up, and then comes down later in the week. Happens about every 2 weeks but overall it's in the right direction :)

Qzee, thanks for stopping by. I could easily send you some of our excess rain PLUS...I could send it without that terrible thunder and lightning you can get over your way!

Bren, there was a great radio station I used to listen to near Dallas that had oldies on the entire drive to/from my Lab's agility classes. Made it all worth the extra driving!

Issy, I whole-heartedly believe it's slow and steady winning the race, as it took me over 2 years to hit my goal. But I've had to pull out a few new tricks to get these "gained" pounds to drop. I've got just over 3 more weeks of this Blitz of mine and I am so striving to get my goal back (I want my blue line again!!!!). Enjoy this hopefully-less-hectic weekend.

I hear you on the blue line, I want it to. I was close, once, close-ish now. Wish it was a sprint to the finish but I think I am more tortoise than hare :)
