This = almost weird comparison US vs EU. We don't go with servings. I compared the global ingredient list (got the pic from my bf in the US) and it's way heavier for the US sriracha, yet it looks lighter on the "serving side". 30% difference, actually! As we say here, "thought-provoking material". In addition, a bit of lovely food and a nice view from my office. Peace FS.

This is a food industry trick to compel the buyer to think they are buying a "low calorie" or "low carb" product when in reality, it's not good at all. Take the serving portion on a 20 oz bottle of soda. Who is going to get 2 1/5 servings out of that? NOBODY!

I don't get it. What is wrong here? Sounds like you have to do the math yourself in your country. And how is this high calorie? Who pours a cup of sriracha on their food?

My last sentence was for SheaDlady. I do agree on things like sodas, etc. but I don't get it with hot sauce.

Oh boy D, read my other comments. It’s not about sriracha itself. No one is drinking a bottle of it for dinner 😂

100 g. = 20 tsp. because it's 5g. per tsp. That would mean 100 cal. for 100 g. of the U.S. stuff. That means there's 4 less calories in the E.U. stuff than the U.S. stuff. Looks like you're comparing a vinaigrette to Sriracha sauce. Don't think I could eat 20 tsp. of Sriracha. lol

I agree on how ridiculous serving portions are for some things but it mostly applies to processed easy to overeat foods. If people are eating mostly those foods without portioning correctly or counting calories they are doomed to be obese or at least lacking nutrients and unhealthy anyways. I don't think there is any stopping the obesity problem that is essentially a worldwide problem and if it hasn't hit your country, it's coming. We have to go out of our way to be healthy these days lol. Life is too easy, food convenient, the need to move isn't there.

Can't say anything than "agreed", D. When it's obvious, well, it's obvious lol

I don't know. I have been known to take a couple of spoonsful of habanero sauce to get my blood pressure down. Taste kinda good.
