Your son is obviously not interested in the frosted wheaties. The expression on his face looks like what many American parents trying to feed their kids vegetables and fruit see on their faces. It ends up under the table or sneakly fed to the family dog at the dinner table.. Keep doing what you do and leave the processed food products on the store shelf.

Thanks ccc. He asked me to buy this when we were grocery shopping together “because you know, my cousin has this”. Whilst I firmly say no to coke and artificially flavoured donuts in plastic boxes with me, we also have a rule that one in a while he can choose a thing on his own. I’m not sure how he eats elsewhere but I can indeed guide him when he is with me. That said, I don’t want to fall into the pattern “I forbid everything all the time” either, so a little slip here and there is ok. Diversity.
