I have Type 2 diabetes, and I know I must keep track of some items in my life, but I occasionally slip. The other day I went to the doctor for my physical. While most of my levels were good, my A1C was up around 8, and the doctor is having me increase the dosage on my medication to get it back down to a safer range. The highest it had ever been was 12, which was really high, and I successfully got it back down around 5 by radicalizing my diet to increase protein consumption. At the beginning of May I realized I hadn't checked my sugar in a while, and when I did, my monitor let me know that my level was 256. It was my own fault for slipping on my diet and not checking my sugar levels, so I began radicalizing my diet again. While I have gotten my sugar levels down to a more acceptable range, I will find out my A1C level in a few months. But by radicalizing my diet with added protein, I've noticed two changes within myself. The first change is that after a month of a radicalized diet, I'm not really craving sweets, and I think that's played a vital role in getting my sugar levels back down to an acceptable range. The second change I've noticed is that I'm slimming down and I've been losing weight again, so I'm definitely going to keep plugging. I believe that by keeping a closer eye on my diet, and by losing weight accordingly, this will help me in other areas, so I'm going to keep challenging myself. My health and wellness are to valuable to take for granted, and if not for myself, I know I must do this for my wife and other loved ones as well.

Thank you, keyten77. I love bitter melon tea. My wife is from the Philippines, and she introduced me to it. I will resume sometime soon.
