59Carol's Journal, 25 May 19

In the last seven days I have lost 2.4 pounds. So that is a decent loss. I started keeping records before I joined Fat Secret. I have lost 50.3 pounds since I began my record keeping. This is such a great milestone!!

This week I continued to be fairly physical. My biggest accomplishment on that front is pitch forking all the hay out of my barn loft. There was a fairly even layer about one small bale high. I had to get it all over to one end and out the window. Now that I have a new roof on the barn, there are no leaks. I want to get any wet areas with potentially rotten boards replaced. To do that the hay had to be removed so I could see the damage. It took 2.5 hours of steady working and lots of sweating but I got it done! There is some damage but it is all salvageable.

My daughter's fellow sent over a couple of guys to do an oil change on my fancy ride on lawn mower. I got the whole front lawn mowed last night-1.5 hours. I will need to mow the barnyard next week.

Today I have my grandson. We are stopping at a Colour Run for me to give a thank you speech on behalf of our local Women's Shelter. They are raising money for the Second Stage housing we are building. Then it is off to the Land (where we hold an annual music festival) where my friend is having a Jamboree in honour of her husband who died in January. I baked 7 doz buns and made 4 gallons of coleslaw for the party. It is a two hour drive from where the speech will be.

My daughter and granddaughter will meet us there. They were on a school trip to Quebec for the past week. My son and his wife are driving from Victoria BC to be there likely late tonight. My sister and her man will be heading over as well. So my family will be uniting this weekend as well.

I tried once again to add a picture -- no such luck. First it wouldn't load and then when I tried again it wouldn't even allow me to click on the icon to add a picture! Guess no pictures!

Got Avocados - I was joking back when I said 'them is fighting words'! You are right those manual lawnmowers are a work out especially when mowing 'bush'. My lawn is not a manicured lawn - it has lots of timothy, quack grass, volunteer poplars, rocks, etc etc. It is the small tree stumps that can really trip you up!
