all your life you have to rely on other people to drive you from place to place not for any reason other than that you have a seizure disorder., after 10 years of no seizures, you go to get your driver's permit only to find that your license is suspended.., scratching your head, you ask the person at the desk if they are serious because you've NEVER EVEN SAT IN A DRIVER'S SEAT, and they tell you yes and that you have a $175 ticket from 20 years ago for driving without insurance but again, you absolutely know it wasn't you. After thinking about who coulda woulda done such a screwed up thing 2 names cross your mind and after a couple of weeks and rethinking things, the first name is totally eliminated and you know for certain which ignorant blonde twig you know that would do something so messed up., get pulled over in Warwick for driving without insurance and use my name, address and dob..and how she had it is I had been a good friend and let her stay with me but when she refused to contribute to my house I asked her to leave and when she wouldn't, I had her removed from my home. Talk about a way to show gratitude, now it may cost me anywhere from $250 up to $700 before I can get my permit. what a lovely world

That's terrible! How did they not send you a ticket in the mail? Probably was before you made her move out and she hid the evidence! Wow, some people.

They did but not until 6ml months later and by then i had moved and had no idea about any of this until this past August when I thought ot would be nice to have my license since I've been without a seizure for so long and relying on other people makes me feel like a burden and using the state provided transportation for medical appointments is unpredictable and unreliable, + with them you can have an appointment 5 minutes down the street and you still have to plan to be out of the house for the day, if I had my license I could have my appointments done and have productive use of the rest of my day.

The worst saddest part of all is that it all happened before Rhode Island had cop-cams and dash cams for the cruisers, if they had them when this all took place it would be SoOo much easier to prove that it wasn't me and have it all go away, but because it's me, no such luck

Just a catch-up on this..., I have called and spoken to the people at the DMV and was told that due to the age of the offense that it will not affect my driving record and that I can pay everything in one day., ( the traffic court and registry are within walking distance of each other)., I can go to the court and pay the ticket of $175 and be sent directly to the traffic adjudication to pay a fee of $151.50 and they will send me directly upstairs to get my permit for $6.50 so thankfully it won't cost me nearly as much as I was expecting.., now I just need someone to bring me..., lol
