Up at 3:30 to make my opening debut on the bike. Did fairly well. Since I don't have a bike computer, and I forgot to charge my wrist GPS, I rode the route that I typically run, so I would be able to approximate my distance. Covered about 9 miles in 40 minutes - not a land record, but I'm pretty happy with it. It was amazing how quick my heartrate came up to the level I've been running at, and stayed between 70 & 75% of max heart rate for a pretty good workout. I was almost as sweaty as if I'd run. :)

Rode the new vintage 30 year old motorcycle into work this morning. It's one of those old "shovelheads" known for vibration and shaking. Loved the ride. Nice and cool, but it will be in the upper 80's when I leave work. The ride is about 45 minutes, and when I got to work, I was tingling all over, like I'b been using a weed eater for 45 minutes. Not quite as good as sex, but still felt like I ought to have a cigarette afterwards. JK! I don't smoke.

Picked up a baby swing for the new playground. Will have to install that when I get home tonight. It's one of those Playschool or Fisher Price, or something like that, swings that strap a kid in (kind of like a car seat). By the time I got home, ate dinner, lubed up the chain on the bicycle, got the motorcycle ready for this morning's trip, and took care of the animals, it was almost time for bed. Amazing how a trip to Walmart can throw off your whole schedule.

Well, about time to go back to work. Think I'll spend some time daydreaming about that Olympic Triathlon. Let's see: 10K (6.2 mi) run, 1.5K (0.93 mi) swim, and a 40K (25 mi) bike ride. I think I can; I think I can; I know I can.

Everyone have a great and glorious Wednesday, and no Carol, it's not Friday. :)

9 miles in 40 is pretty darn good DK. You will love biking, I know I do. It is just as fun as when we were kids, and not as boring as running in my opinion. Be careful though, it can become and expensive pastime, like golf. Also, I think it effects different muscles, more upper thigh, and less calf & knee. Shovelheads rule! Have fun on your way home.

You're right, Posterchild, it can be expensive. I bought this bike a few years ago new for $300. and then I just had to have these new shifters, and different handlebars. I'm not going for the titanium 3oz racing bikes that go as fast as a porche though; I think I'll stick with my Trek Hybrid. But, I'm not saying there isn't some room in my future for a new, lighter and faster hybrid. Hmmm. I think I better wait a while on that, till DW quits reminding me of all the toys I've bought in the last couple years. :) And yes, I could feel it in my quads right off the bat, but it's my butt that I'm worried about - ouch, and I even put a fashionable gel cover on the seat.
