My thoughts: any oil is just empty calories. All oils have been shown to impair endothelial function, causing dilation of blood vessels and causing possible heart issues. On top of the, fat has 9 calories / gram, making it very calorie dense. Eat the coconut, not just it's oil. https://ucdintegrativemedicine.com/2016/05/why-you-should-opt-out-of-olive-oil/#gs.ZmP0_fQ

Oil and fats aren’t empty calories they do exist for a reason. Our ancestors pressed oil out of olives for a reason and saved lard. Beyond those 9 calories per gram being very satiating of hunger pangs. The fat causes ‘heart disease’ and arteriosclerosis myth is busted pretty thoroughly. Yes, my evidence is all personal and anecdotal. Mostly myself and the people I know here on this list. My siblings both have heart problems though. AND both have atherosclerosis. My brother had a quadruple bypass. My father died of heart failure. My mother of stroke and clogged arteries as her organs shut down from Lupus. So I take it VERY seriously. I have had high blood pressure since I was 18. Been on cholesterol meds for 20 years. Until keto. I am the healthiest I have been since I was in my teens. I eat very little processed food. Lots of healthy veggies and fats. A bit of fruits, a bit of grains and a bit more of meat with quite a bit of fish and yogurt. Olive oil, coconut oil and nuts are key in my diet as well as cheeses. I am a DIET controlled diabetic who swings hypoglycemic VERY easily and FATS are one of the best controls for keeping the blood sugar on an even keel for a long time frame. I think of it as carbs spike quick so I eat very few since I very seldom need to run like a bunny. LOL Protein will give me power as it gets through the digestive process in the long haul and replace any muscle I’ve broken down while the fat will help me glide on an even lake without triggering my body to grab constant extremes. Now if you’re dieting you want your body to be triggered to grab those fat stores so you don’t always want to be satiated. As a diabetic, I don’t always want to be dealing with blood sugar issues, so it’s a balancing act. 🙋🏻

DietDoctor.com has some very good articles about healthy fats. It not what we have been led to believe. Smprowett speaks the same as the medical doctors and medical researchers the Diet Doctor website has to offer.
