Naphthacat's Journal, 02 May 24

Good morning :D It was the intention to check in once a month since returning from Canada, but the previous month ran away in a whirlwind of job searching and… well, life stuff is life stuff. Not much difference weight wise, -1kg of the 3 month holiday regain is gone, but it’s still a few kg away from what I consider my “personal ideal” which tends to fall between 68-72 Regardless if my goal was always 75kg, I definitely prefer closer to 70 than 75, just a few kg makes such a big difference in my stamina, endurance, breathing. It affects the way I can move & execute life. Maybe 70 will become my new goal, maybe it will simply be a byproduct of being more active? who knows, I definitely don’t feel motivated to actively lose weight anymore.

Today was a funny realization that it has already been over 2 years since the first wave of skin removal surgeries march 2022 and 1,5 years since the second wave of skin removals. Woooow. Time really flies. I have to say that having my leg lift has made the biggest difference, of all 3 procedures, I can move swiftly and a lot longer than I used to. My legs feel so strong all the time now…Back then doing 5-7km walk was standard, often I needed a day between to recover, my legs were always feeling heavy…. once a week I would push myself to 12-13km with a 2 days recover.

Now I can easily do 8-10km per day (10-15,000 steps per day) and in weekend push closer to 20km … or 12-15km with hills/steep hikes. And I don’t need recovery days anymore. The recovery is easy, more complete, feet no longer suffer cramping or from heaviness of the legs! It’s incredible how resilient the body is, and after being 145kg and struggling to do 3km walks slowly, then needing 2 days to recover…. I am constantly amazed and full of gratitude. What a gift mobility is :)

I’ll check in again next month and try to remember measurements as well, but for now will keep strength training full body 2-3x week, walking daily…thanks to the walking pad, walks are no longer weather dependent, so no excuses :D longer hikes 1-2x in weekend depending on weather. It’s a formula that works

I have also observed some natural shifts in my diet these past couple weeks, but it could be hormonal/circumstantial so it’s too early to tell yet… but I have been craving a lot more fatty animal foods so will be interested where that goes. Mostly fatty meat, butter, eggs… It could also be because I have increased my activity considerably the past couple weeks, so am curious to observe where this body will lead us, I trust it in any case …. She got us this far :D
