🌺Welcome to Motivational Monday! Is it time to say goodbye to Diet Culture? 👋

Diet Culture is that perfection model that dictates a lot of "shoulds": should look this way, should eat like this, should exercise like way, should use these supplements or products or be some mythical model of "diet success". It does a number of your head! Do you have diet culture mentality? 🤔

I sure had that beating up on myself for not being "dieting perfection" my entire life. I was angry whenever I got hungry, starting in my teens. Thin women never got hungry! 😠I carried so many rules & "shoulds" that I totally lost touch with my body. I feared food and the scale. My body got big, then bigger, then biggest. I finally got professional help in the form of therapy, followed by obesity specialists in weight management to unlearn my binge & emotional eating. It's been a long process which I still work on daily. It's so much easier loving myself and my body while creating a new relationship with food. I might not be your idea of dieting success - that's okay! Our journeys are all different. Live your best life!😎

Sorry, can't agree with all this. Some foods are indeed bad, and we can't "just eat" them as much as we may want. A healthy "diet" is very important. And frankly when someone says to me, you look great, have you been working out, you lost weight, etc, I take it as a compliment.
