Small loss, but quite happy about this. I had less sweet-tasting low-carb treats on hand this past week, so I think it definitely helped.
Since Monday, my morning blood pressure has returned back to normal (under 120 systolic, 60s or 70s diastolic). Not sure what I have been doing differently. I don't feel less stressed, but every reduction of stress help, even if tiny.
In Quebec, we had some good news about our vaccination on Thursday: since yesterday, the entire adult population has been able to book an appointment online for a first shot! It goes by age group. Every other day, a new age group is allowed to book their shot, by 5-year increments, from older groups (50+) to younger groups (18-24). They are still working out how teenagers aged 16 and 17 will book their appointments. Maybe in schools, but people that age don't always attend school.
Canada is supposed to get some Pfizer and Moderna from past orders that were not honoured yet very soon. Some Johnson & Johnson has arrived, but has not been distributed to the provinces yet due to some quality assurance issues. I hope there has not been tampering from anti-vaxx employees at the J&J facility or something. In any case, if I could choose my vaccine, I would choose one of the mRNA vaccines, even though there are some cardiomyopathy risks with them apparently (in France and Israel, not sure if this is real or just anti-vaxx propaganda). More protection against COVID variants. We are not allowed to choose a vaccine, but all we can do is decline it. Better than nothing.
So I will be able to book my appointment on Monday! This is the first time I am glad I live in Quebec! In neighbouring Ontario, things are not going very well since the beginning of the 3rd wave and the vaccination process seems more complicated, even though they simplified the booking process at the very same time as Quebec did. If I lived in Ontario, I would be stuck having to go to a pharmacy and get AstraZeneca only.
Now I am bracing for a rainy week next Monday, but in the meantime we are supposed to have a nice and sunny, but cool weekend.
