Yay, a 2.2 lb loss! Hope I don't gain it back!

This is despite having eaten a mug cake yesterday in the evening and some low-carb chocolate bars as a snack maybe twice this week. They are called "Suzie's Good Fats". I even binged on macademia nuts last Monday! I still was mindful of my carbs for most of my week.

My blood pressure was a bit higher this morning compared to the few previous days, but overall it is better controlled. It seems to follow an opposite trend compared to my weight, then adjust with the weight. I am still not in my optimal weight. According to this site => https://people.maths.ox.ac.uk/trefethen/bmi_calc.html my BMI is 25.7 and my maximum optimal weight would be at precisely 152.8 lbs for my height. However an optimal blood pressure is more important than an optimal weight.

The thing that worries me is that I suspect that the reddish and swollen skin under my eyes (not standard swollen eye bags) may be due to angioedema. It can be caused by antihypertension medication that interact with angiotensin (ACE inhibitors and ARBs) and the swelling may sometimes occur years after starting the medication. It is also more likely to happen for Black people, and I happen to be Black. I also take an ARB, plus a calcium channel blocker. Problem is, the doctors I have seen about my eyes think any kind of swelliing caused by medication should have occured right in the beginning of treatment. I guess I will bring it up again to my family doctor, I am supposed to see her soon for my medication follow-up. I actually don't want to change again my medication because it works so well; however the swelling is annoying and it is tender/slightly painful sometimes.

In the meantime, I am happy because it's Saturday!

you need to listen to your body first, a graph is just a projection of an average and most of us are not average. and you are right, good blood pressure is much more important than an inaccurate graph

Bonjour et bienvenue. Get on that doctor right away. We are all different in our reaction to meds. I have fired many a doctor until I have found those that will listen. You know, the one that talks to you and asks lots of questions instead of looking at their computer monitor! Je vous souhaite le meilleur! ❤️
