Dahl

A delicious Indian dahl.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Heat oil in pan, add onions and spices and sauté for 2 minutes.
  2. Add diced cauliflower and tomatoes and sauté for another 2 minutes.
  3. Add water and rinse lentils, bring to a boil then reduce and simmer for 35 minutes, covered.
  4. Stir in remaining ingredients and serve with brown rice.

What is 1/2 tsp red? red what??

Instead of water use chicken broth. I switch the turmeric and cumin for medium curry powder and add some parsley to the dish. I also add a little butter to the olive oil for sautéing. We use this as a side dish with chicken or fish and some mixed vegetables.
