Freshly baked scones - perfect with butter or jam!
Ingredients
Directions
- Mix flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt.
- Cut butter into cubes, keep cold. Cut into dry ingredients until mixture is crumbly.
- Add raisins. Add egg and milk.
- Mix into dough, do not overmix. Put into freezer to cool if dough gets sticky.
- Roll out or flatten dough to about 2 cm. Cut into rounds or triangles, put on parchment paper lined baking sheet. Put into freezer to cool if dough is sticky.
- Bake in 200C for 15 minutes. Best serve warm, with jam or butter. Last 3 to 4 days.
