White Bean & Ham Soup

Simple and easy white bean soup with veggies and ham.

Directions

  1. Put all ingredients together in soup pot and cook on high until it starts to boil stirring occasionally.
  2. Lower heat to medium and cook until done.
  3. Add water as pot water evaporates while cooking.
  4. Cooking time usually runs about 3-4 hours.

Fatsecrets is a great site. The food values are easy to look up. But this RECIPE FOR White Bean and ham soup lacks a significant item, serving size! What is the serving size, ounce, pound, bowl, cup, quart? Since I am putting together my meal based upon calories for a meal I need to know what serving size gives me 239 calories. I can't assume what the unit measure is. Serving size is all over the place as each manufacture wants to make their product attractive, thus the juggle their serving size and calorie values. Perhaps if one were a cook then the serving size would be intuitive. I am not a cook, but I understand mass values, volume measurement, etc. Sorry for the lecture, I just want to know the unit of measure here.
