500 Calorie workout Per Day Challenge: Nice challenge although some days I'm late into the evening getting my 500 cal workout in.

Fair Warning...the following may be super boring for some folks:

For the last six plus months I have been using my heart rate based calorie count to record both my daily calorie expenditure totals and exercise event calories as it is a more accurate estimate for me than either my elliptical machine (wattage x time based) or Fat Secret's, (time based), generalized estimated exercise calories.

Very encouraging for me; I recently also hit a NEW Personal Best (PB) sprint to 500 machine measured calories (wattage x time) of 21:48 on July 12th, 16 seconds faster than my prior PB of 22:04 which was set a few months ago on March 13.... prior PB to March's was set in Sept, 2016 at 22:20.

I also did follow this PB test session with another short (12 minute) session to get above the Challenge's target 500 cal per workout.

89.8 kg Lost so far: 19.1 kg.    Still to go: 0 kg.    Diet followed: 100%.

Thnx Kpw & April :-) I tried posting the data (even more boring, lol) but the screen shot gets cut off. Average heart rate was 145 bpm, which included a 2 min Recovery HR measurement at the end. The RHR was 67 bpm measured from 21:54 to 23:55, (178bpm - 111bpm). Max heart rate was 186 bpm, perceived effort 90% through the session and 100% for the last few minutes. Recovery heart rate and resting heart rate are good indicators of our relative personal fitness and endurance levels and tells me a lot about where I stand relative to my past.

Steven Lloyd, I don't find this a bit boring. I find it very interesting!! I think that anyone who does isn't here for the right reasons. To help others to get to their goals and to support them too. You are doing great!!! Keep it up, before long you will be finding out that you will be besting yourself daily!!

Thnx SLL, I do check myself with several different tests against set distances, elevations and/or courses...usually a few times a month. Since losing a few pounds here on FS, all my numbers have been much better. Now it is mostly a mental game, how much discomfort am I willing to put up with for some of the test numbers to move. My goal is to try and have as good of endurance, speed and power to weight ratio as possible while still living a real life. FS has really helped with knowledge, encouragement and watching others power through their obstacles....great tools too!!

Yup, not boring at all. You're working doing a significant workout getting your heartrate up ther lke that. I like tracking my heartrate with my fitbit during workouts, it's a good measure of intensity. Keep up the good work!

Yep, we all come here for the same reason, and finding other places to help us measure our needs vs. wants, is a good thing too. We all need the info and the help so you are really an inspiration to us, by posting and letting us know how you figure it all, and how well you are doing.
