Woke at 224.2, down 7 pounds from yesterday. Worked until 5:30 and went out for a HIIT walk/run. Interestingly, my workout was a polar opposite of what I experienced yesterday. My heart rate stayed at 174-178 almost during my entire walk yesterday. Today, I could not keep it in the cardio zone consistently no matter what I did. I finally got to the point where I had to alternate running and walking every other minute. My heart rate was returning to the 60 bpm zone even when walking at 4-5 mph! Yesterday, I could not keep it under 170! So crazy. I ended up doing 5.8 miles and got a nice 219.8 weigh in upon my return. Ate a few extra calories tonight, but all good stuff.

Going down quickly, good job. Very strange about your heart rate, I wonder if there could be an issue with your fitbit picking it up correctly? I've had some problems with mine "losing" my heart rate during exercise. I ended up getting a sweat/wristband and now wear it on my wrist during exercise - that allows me to loosen the strap and wear the fitbit higher on my arm without it slipping back down. Since then I haven't noticed any issues.

It does 'lose' the heart rate now and then, but usually, it returns to an appropriate level when it picks it back up. The first thing I thought of when it was reading 170+ the other day is that I had just received an update to the software. I thought they had screwed it up. But it seems to be working well at all others times. And in terms of how I felt yesterday, I could tell I was not really getting tired. Still had lots of energy. Will continue to monitor!

Fitbit pushed another update to the Surge today so let's see what changes. The only apparent thing was a reminder beep that you can set at the minutes or mile mark to remind you to free run.
