Draglist's Journal, 04 May 15

Extreme vacation weight gain resulting from three 4000 plus calorie days followed by a 3300 calorie day. Woke at 218.8 at my inlaw's house. Went for an eight-mile walk/run in the park and got back to 214.2. Found out some really amazing things on that walk. ACTUAL running (not holding on to a treadmill) actually had my heart rate ABOVE my peak for my age! I hit 172 a few times, and I really shouldn't exceed 165. Of course, the elevation here is 4000 feet, too. But I will be 'taking it outside' as soon as I get home. But that won't be until Monday... as soon as we get back to DC, we will have to leave again to travel to Ohio for Em's graduation. Did hit my Fitbit goals today, but likely still have a calorie surplus due to Pizza Hut for dinner! (Holy crap -- check out the sodium!) Having a good time, though!

Bill so glad you are having a good time and doing it all mindfully. Even on your vacation you are making discoveries - how cool is that! It's a way of life ... not a diet and exercise stint! Enjoy!!!!

I like how you don't let a diet stop you from enjoying life's precious moments.

Thank you, everyone! Yes, definitely eating too much. Having a good time on vacation but there is an underlying addiction. But will go cold turkey again starting on Monday. We are having a great time.

Elevation is a killer, lol. When I jogged at Tahoe last summer I thought I wouldn't make it back to the hotel, lol.

Thanks. Yes, hard times ahead! Will hunker down when I get back to my routine.

You're not using your own scale are you? Variation. Plus pizza. This is why I don't eat it. Too much salt. 10 of those pounds at least are water retention. Like I'm one to talk after the cheddar bay biscuits fiasco. Anyway, you know what to do. You'll have it whipped in no time.

Thanks, Msbuggirl. That pizza added an incredible amount of sodium. I was amazed... haven't had Pizza Hut for years. Thanks, WholefoodNut. It was fun but back home and time to get back to work!

Pizza Hut is the devil, so good, so much salt...the second I'm done eating it I can feel my body puff up!

That's exactly how I felt!
