Yet another glitch... Got seven notifications of this.

Yes. I just noticed that. I hate this. I will report it asap.

They had a glitch where it had not updated FatSecret for several days. Apparently, when they fixed that, it caught up all at once and generated all these notices, one for each day it had missed. I asked that they allow us to opt out of these notifications. I can do my own journaling.

Aww, don't you just love new technology. :) It's supposed to make our lives easier. Maybe that why I am over weight?

And can't catch my typos.

I remember in school being told that one day computers would get rid of the need for paper. As near as I can tell, all it did was generate the need for way more paper and bureaucracy.

I proofread policy documents every week. No way to do it well on a computer screen, I think. Your eyes need to take in the entire page at once. And, I really hate this new aspect of the Fitmess app. I cannot believe they presumed to add these notices as a journal entry with my photo and user name. I've reported it and they got my email. If I can't opt out of this, I am going to disconnect the app and begin entering my Fitbit info manually again.

No biggy, par for the course. Gmail just updated on one of my tablets and now the body of an email flashes and then blanks - only in vertical mode. Tried to request an invite for an Amazon Echo and the link leads to a "page does not exist" message.

I did that too, but workplace security rules prevented me from seeing it. I did order an Amazon Fire box that will arrive tomorrow night. Excited about that. My Tivo has given up the ghost and is inserting 'delays' into anything we watch. Maddening. I'm looking to strip out the full cable package as soon as we can.

draglist, the Amazon Fire TV is the best streaming box around in my humble opinion. Lots of good reviews. I get one myself, but I don't have a fast internet connection or a TV with an HDMI outlet. I tried to get an Amazon Fire Stick because the price was so good - 19 dollars for Prime members. However, every time I tried to order, it kept raising the price to list, which is 39 dollars. The Amazon Echo looks like a good deal at $99 for Prime members. Not sure I'd be willing to shell out 200 for it, though

Chris, I pre-ordered one of those Echos... looks super cool. I have so been waiting for voice activated computing. As a Prime member got it for half price.

Thanks for the backup on the Fire... will let you know how it works. Will get it tomorrow night but will be out of town all day on Saturday. Won't get to play with it at length until Sunday!

Looking forward to your test drive.

The Amazon Echo is the future: ubiquity is computing. Trek on!

The Fire works amazingly, Chris. The hardest thing about setting it up was getting it out of the shrink wrap. Watched two movies Friday night and then did an all day House of Cards marathon yesterday. Worked flawlessly. Looking forward to the Echo...

Glad to hear. The Echo is what the Nexus Q should have been.
