Hit 206.6 again after my 16:8 fast and bonus hour treadmill workout. I’m stuck at home with a broken down car! Will wrap up March today with a 900-1000 calorie day.

How are you determining your metabolic age? I've never heard of that term/ measurement before. I am curious. Seem to learn something new every day.

HI Caralyn! I have a Tanita BC533 Biometric Impedance Analyzer scale (89-119 dollars at Amazon.com). It gives me all these measurements. The metabolic age feature compares the subject's calculated Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) to the average age associated with that level of metabolism based on the company's research. Since I'm 55, I'm very happy with that!

Aman_da, I think the way he posted confused you. If you see his daily calories, it isn't normally that way. He is going low today because he is stuck at home. You can have 1-2 low days a week, apparently. I'm still reading on that, but my understanding so far is that it isn't until you go over 48 hours that of low calories that it starts to affect your metabolism.

Thanks for the clarification Caralyn. You read on here about so many being in starvation mode and not knowing whey they are not losing. Hope it works and you can beat through it!

Draglist, that's cool. I might look into that. I have a fitness scale at home. It gives me most of those readings (including ideal weight), but I might just like that even more.

Yes, it's a lot of fun to track it. You can look up Tanita on Google to find out what it does. Aman_da, I am maintaining a 1000 calorie per day deficit based on how many I use. I also track that on a monthly basis. Since I went over that a few times this month, the last few days of the month are pretty sparse so that I can maintain my average calories. But I got a chance to work out today that I didn't plan on, so I actually have another 1100 I can eat (in addition to the 469 already planned). My average calorie intake is actually about 1840.

Hey! I'm so proud to see that you are a mere 6.6 pounds from your goal. You've lost 120 pounds in under 2 years. You're my hero. Keep up the great work. If you are losing 1000 calories per day, you should reach 200 by the end of April, no problem!

Thanks, Mrsmole! I'm thinking of slowing it down a bit to an 800 calorie deficit. Need to do the final math, but according to the BWSim app (free for iphone/ipad), it says 2000 a day will get me there by May 1.

Not a bad idea. Ultimately, you want to end at something that maintains all your hard work. A gradual approach to that might be good.

Thanks. My goal currently is 200. If I go a bit lower, that's OK, but trying to get to 10 percent body fat at this point more than an actual weight number. I'm thinking that 195-200 will get me to the BF percentage I want.

Are you lowering the calories for a reason? It seems a bit low for you but I was wondering if you have a system?

My calorie target this month was 1000 fewer than I used every day (which ended up being 2846 after I added all my exercise, etc.) So 1846 was the target and I had a goal of 206-207, which I met. This next month, I'll be shooting for 200 lbs. by May 1, and I think I can get there with an 800 calorie per day deficit... so I get to eat about 200 more per day this month!

Great job, Bill! I'm waiting for amazon to ship my scale - should be any day. Can't wait for my new toy. Thanks for the recommendation. Something else to keep me motivated! (Sorry about the car!)

Outstanding! Use it in good health! The car is OK... my son's graduation present that I'm using while he's stationed overseas... I'd better get it fixed up for him if I know what's good for me -- he's bigger than me now! LOL.
