Draglist's Journal, 02 Jan 14

Low cal day but only dropped .1 lbs. I will take it! Might see another drop overnight. Lots of protein. Bought four new suits last night as I am finally comfortable at my size (44) and I can take in the pant waists if I have to. Also, adjusted my overall goal weight from 190 to 195 based on studying the Tanita scale and the Willoughby athletic index.

Congratulations on the size 44 suits. How are you measuring all the things in your Journal?

Hi Tim. Thanks. I have a Tanita BC533 body composition monitor scale. It's great. Tells me all that stuff by sending a slight pulse (safe, not felt) through the body. It was 89 bucks at Amazon.

Did you just sleep 3 and 35 minutes?

Yes, sad to say. I rolled out a new version of my racing website on New Years' Day and I had some cleanup work to do. Plus spent a lot of time on FB and FS doing happy new year posts (and killing off my bottle of scotch). But still had to go to work this morning! : )

You have to be tired today. Hope you are able to get some rest tonight.

Way to go on the new suits. All you need is a good tailor. It's amazing what they can do with your clothes when you drop a few pounds. Good on ya!

How do you manage the 60.3% water percentage, I'm a 44.5% in the past 2 days,do you drink alot of water?

I don't know, Jenfar! I don't really do anything special. I have 3-4 cups of coffee each morning and I TRY to drink water during the day, but I'm not sure I ever hit that magicaly '8 glasses' target they say you should have. I suspect that the water number is largely a feature of my larger body (72 cm, 216 lbs.) It would be interesting to do some reading on the body water percentage. It's something I did not consider or see anything about until I got the Tanita scale.

Hi Giant. I looked at a range of them and looked at the customer reviews on Amazon before deciding on the one I picked. I do not remember specifically those other two. I would look at the features of all three, the relative prices, and then check the customer reviews of each and go from there. I decided not to go with the more detailed individual body section scanner (like Keld has) as I was just dipping my toes into the body composition monitor pool. I thought the BC533 at 89 dollars was a great way to get started. I have not regretted the purchase for a second!
