woot woot. That's fab Bill. Congrats. Tell me again, I have a horrible memory, when you say 'fast' what do you mean? Less calories in the day overall or fast until a certain time of day? Thanks for the help with the geeky numbers too :)

Good morning and thanks! It means fewer calories overall. 600 per day for guys and 500 a day for gals. These numbers are from the 5:2 plan but I find them effective for my purposes. Now that my calorie average is where I want it, I will eat 1200 per day until the weekend where I will go higher. Then I will eat a minimum of 600 calories per day on Monday until I'm back at my desired calorie average.

Thanks for the info. 500 cals for gals. That's twice a week on the 5:2 plan right? But only when needed. If we are on track don't need to do that. But a 500 cal day would give me quite a lot of scope for my night out on Saturday. Maybe I'll try that on Thursday. Hope I'm not being a pain.

That's right. Only as needed per my plan, which I'm borrowing from Keld and modifying a bit. If the Monday at 500 puts you back on your calorie average goal, then you are done! In fact, sometimes you may not need to go that low if you haven't had a big weekend. But do try to 'indulge' at least one day of the weekend. That will tell your bod that it is ok to lose the weight, and then the fast day will kick start the weight loss again.

Great. Wow. IF, Carson Chow, KingKeld, BP - my head could be spinning :) So Saturday is my big day this week - lunch with sister which is generally omlette and fries :) and then a lovely fish-y dinner with hubby for our anniversary. Definitely an indulgent day and then if needed a 500 cal day on Monday. I can do that. You are the best.

Never a pain! I didn't notice that you planned to do the fast day first. That worked fir me before thanksgiving, but I lost a lot of weight just purely on those low cals. The real payoff should be this week as I eat lower after indulging.
