Cool. Hit a new low after fast day two and a 340 calorie workout. Five more to go for my original goal and then time to lose another 35! And woo hoo! Got the FatSecret blue stripe!

Congrats. You are doing great. When you fast, do you fast for 24 hours, or how many hours. I am new to IF (intermittent fasting) so am interested in others who are fasting. I know man's metabolism will be different than a woman's but I'm interested nonetheless.

Hello! Thanks for sending me a buddy request. Glad to meet you! Before I started the intermittent fasting, I already had decided not to eat after 9pm at night. I usually don't eat breakfast until 9am, so that gave me a solid 12 hours per night of fasting already. So, on my fasting days (as with all my days, really), I eat at 9am, noon, a snack at 3pm, and then dinner at 6 or 7pm. The only difference on my fasting days is that I try to limit each meal to 100-200 calories or so. I also may eat several smaller meals. Some days, I'll just do fruit. Amazing that bananas every two hours can keep you going! But as with my normal days, I stop eating at 9pm. Usually on the fast days, my dinner is my last meal since I use up my 600 calorie allotment pretty quickly! Nice to meet you and best of luck in your efforts! Bill

OH! I see that I missed entirely your main question! When I say 'fast,' I mean limit my calories to 600 (it's 500 for women). I do that every Wednesday and Thursday, and it really helps to keep me on track. Idea came out of Britain this past year and when I thought about it, I remembered that every time I wanted to break a plateau, I would eat normally for a few days and then eat low cal... I had stumbled on it before, but now I do it each week. No need to go totally without food...
