Debbie Cousins's Journal, 29 May 20

I wonder what the national average weight lost or gained during COVID-19 will end up being? It really doesn't seem to be affecting MY life any, weight-wise, but I was already behaving badly before it started. I know that it has greatly impacted some people's lives, though - especially stress-eaters. Hope you are faring well and that you realize that, "This, too, shall pass." Love all my FS family! Hang in there, friends!

I keep hearing about the Covid 19 like the Freshman 15, so will be interesting to see when this is all done. I wonder how much region has to do with it. I know in my area groceries are difficult to get, either waiting 2 weeks for a delivery/pick-up appointment or waiting in line for a very long time in a high risk area. I have family in another state that has no problem getting fresh groceries though 🤷🏼‍♀️

A lot of people probably put their diet to the side understandably.

It affected me badly at first, not so much now. Good for you Debbie for showing another drop in weight. Mnols, I'm so sorry to hear you're having trouble getting fresh groceries. We've had a few things become scarce for a little while, but no problem overall.

For the first 3 weeks between the stay at home order the the pressure of my job, working from home I did stree eat and put my healthy eating plan on hold. It didn't help that my husband started doing the grocery shopping and brought home cookies, cakes, ice cream, chips and whatever other junk food he could get. I've been 4 weeks sober :) now and see the weight and inches being release. :)

Although I know the pandemic situation has caused me some real anxiety, I was still able to stick to my diet. I had health concerns I was trying to fix, and I only had three months to make it happen, so I think that helped me keep my focus. I've been able to lose 68 pounds so far this year, and the health issues I had are no more.

The pandemic has helped me in that The husband who brings in lots of goodies has not been going out to get candy bars cookies, turnovers, pies or ice cream. All temptations have been so much less. I have baked and provided sweets but have been able to make them in small amounts and just for him. We are shopping about once every three weeks which means I am able to plan for things that fit my diet better and that helps.

I just heard on the news that the average gain is 5#. But since nothing is back to normal anytime soon, I'm guessing it will be higher by the end.

I think people in this site have proven to be pretty resilient in comparison to those who may not use these sites to console with others. Hell, who knows...

I was gaining weight slowly before this pandemic started. But I gained over 7 lb during the quarantine.

WOW, loved all the responses telling me how you're doing weight-wise in the pandemic. We're in strange times, but one day this will all be just a memory and an entry in the history books.
