Out weight fluctuates from day to day for no obvious reason. It used to really bother me, but not anymore. 💛

Yeah fluctuations... often no explanation. I always think maybe I should record every day (I weigh every day now) but then I think I have to say something and I do not know what to say so ....

Thanks, shirfleur! I'm not worried because i know I had a good day. I just don't love the vulnerability of folks seeing my weight! 😁 But, that is why I am doing this for a couple weeks... for the accountability I'm needing right now. I finished my alloted calories by 3pm, and then went on a fast and hilly five mile walk yesterday... My normal route. We will see what tomorrow brings! 😁

Hahah! exactly, liv! But, I so appreciate the understanding, and it is good for me right now. I am feeling soooo much more attentive to what I am doing!

I'm sure you didn't expect it especially after a fast & hilly walk yesterday. I got a 0 weight loss so I wasn't too pleased either. I ate well but didn't exercise yesterday and still need to drink more water. Anyway, I'm sure you will have a loss tomorrow.

Yeah I never get used to a gain after a good day. Sometimes just a good lifting session makes the number rise. Good job!

It goes up and down, and definitely ignores all input you might try to give as to what you think it should be on any given day. 🤔

Roxy, Princess, Katsolo! Such voices of experience! Thank you! I do know this... Sorta, but when it is happening in front of an audience, I feel I need to justify and proclaim my innocence! 😁 I know there have been and will be in my future plenty of cause for weight jumps. I'm just thankful for the help and that y'all get this!!!

Try at another time of day as well. You may be pleasantly surprised.

I weigh & record every day...always have. I fluctuate pretty much every day & it doesn't always make sense. Some days I eat more & weigh less the next day & vice versa. I just feel like if I know where I start each day I can manage things better.

I’m with Sherry. Sometimes opposite of what I expect. It’s why the scale cannot determine what we do. Hard workout, scale is up, then I workout harder!! Eat high sodium, scale is up. Drink more water. It’s all normal to me and doesn’t bother me the least. I keep doing what I do. Do you use the scale as your main mark of success Melissa? Do you use other ways to determine how far you’ve come? I think you’re really hard on yourself. You are tall. What weight do you want to be? I think it’s important for us all to be realistic. No way will I ever be what’s recommended for my height. I’m not wanting to be skinny. I want to be healthy. What’s your goal?

Erquiaga, I think I might be surprised, but I doubt it would be plesant! 😁 SherryeB, before I reached "goal" I only weighed once a week... ever. Since then I weighed a lot more frequently... Often daily just for the reason you said, and so I can keep an eye on things better. But, the last little while I've struggled enough to know I to need to make some changes. One is my comment to recording here daily for a while at least. I do find the up and downs so crazy at times!

Wifey! You seem so stable! Is your weight ever more than a pound up or down!? 😁 Yes, I do have other "measures" I go by, but the scale is a relatively objective measure. Yes, it can record the bulky, heavy, low calorie as "weight," but it is harder to lie to myself when I see the direction it is going. I think I could be 150 and not feel "fat, " but I am not ready to give up on working to maintain close to or at 145. I will see as I get older, because it will get harder I am sure. My real goal and when I feel best is when I know I am making good decisions about my diet and fitness. I feel rotten when I feel out of control in these areas.

We all go up and down, just keep doing what your doing to stay on track to reach your goal, We're in this together.

Yep, it's a bit weird to watch the numbers fluctuate at first but it does help teach you to accept the little bumps in the road for weight. I hated it when I was younger but now I'm just eh. I just look for upward trends now. I just like seeing all the data points.

Meh weighing daily is too much. Too much fluctuating.

that's minor. your doing great. I understand wanting the desire for better choices. I used to desire sugar like crack. I'd eat until I didn't feel good. over time it changed when I got tired of being tired. lol wisest thing Ozzy Osbourne ever said. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Weighing every day can get to be a bit maddening as our bodies like to fluctuate for no reason sometime

Thank you, Retta! naobilynn, it is just bumps I know, and too I am not really worried scale moves unexpectedly like I was before. The last little while is the first time I have weighed frequently. It is an education for sure! getfitmiss, that is exactly what I thought for a long time, but I am rather enjoying the new lessons about my body i am learning! 😁

busjwanie, that is a super quote! I think to make real commitment to change you have to be really sick of where you are at. I could eat candy until I was sick too. perks54, I agree. BUT, some really SIGNIFICANTLY amazing people I respect here, and many who have had the most longterm success at maintaining weigh and record daily. I've resisted, but now I am going to give it a shot. 😁
