This month's "progress" and I use that term loosely...up 3.8# since Feb 1. Missed the gym 11 days- attended 18 times. That's the most time off from the gym since starting a year ago. Most measurements are the same or the difference is negligible. Didn't see the 170's at all but hoping for more in March with some better weather. Work is going to be extremely busy for awhile as I got a phone call yesterday saying a supervisor resigned without notice. That's going to leave me to fill the position and I am dreading it. So tomorrow will be stressful as I get to try to figure out where she left off with things and get the 1st of the month paperwork and receipts done. Basically my plan is to not have any planned time off from the gym and to just go whenever I can because I know a lot of things will arise unexpectedly that will make me unable to go. Thankful that I requested off a few days around mid month that have already been approved, otherwise it would be denied likely. Feeling better today overall- though I think I am in a Nyquil stupor. Planning on coffee and church and making the most of this near 60 degree day before I am stuck at work for the foreseeable future.

What a bombshell to have dropped in your lap. Wishing your transition to the added stress is smooth. Who leaves without notice? Oh, a self-absorbed jerk and you're left to clean up the mess. Wishing you strength and limited stress as well as opportunities to get to the gym. ♥️🙏♥️

DP- hope this all works at quickly and work issues are resolved. I resolved all the work frustration by retiring early LOL ! A month ago someone commented on here that one of my posts as "eating" issues as it being an excuse. I won't do that on this comment. Sometimes food is and can be a safe haven... call it the lesser of many evils, alcohol, drugs, anger, depression. Take care of what you have to do at work quickly and if you need a McD's band aid in the short term to keep you fueled just do it Have you started using your new running shoes ?

Sounds like you have identified some stress, that’s good, you don’t have to worry about it surprising you :). Hold your head high, work on pile of things you can work on. Keep an eye on those things you can’t. Occasionally laugh, just cause, and remember your not alone. We have our stresses too. Might not be the same as yours, but they exist

Just do what you can do—- diligent portion control and food choices. Even things like parking as far from your destination as possible, taking the stairs, isometrics at your desk. Anything to keep the muscles active and engaged. It happens to us all. With my sick sister I have missed swimming, a lot, and have been eating at food places closest to the hospital. Gained a couple pounds, but not the end of the world. It will work out because, for me, there is NO risk of going off the rail and gaining tons of weight. Just wont happen. It’s habit.

Keep healthy snacks on hand for when your stressed and over worked so you don't reach for the bad stuff.......we are hear for you!!! One meal/snack at a time for now (you know until things calm down a bit again). Do what you can and don't beat yourself up....... "it's a journey not a destination" -Kotana Small

think of it this way. you'll be able to add supervisor/skills to your resume then change job in 1 year for more $. that's how you retire early. repeat every 5 years. #retirement rocks

I had a rough February as well. I am up at least 5-8 pounds. I haven't been logging everything and not weighing myself. That's what I do when I go off plan. The only thing I've been doing is going to the gym 3 times a week. I figure that's what I need to do to make it worth the month membership fee. Sorry about what you are going through at work. Makes me glad I am retired - I remember how much stress there was when I was working.

Yikes! What a best to leave you with the extra. But why you? You’re next in command? I’ve had cleaning contracts come at me this week that I’m not sure I can handle. Truly what I wanted and prayed for, but wish it was spaced. I have my work cut out for me this week/month to get it all organized. Nothings concrete and I dare not grumble, in case all of it falls through. Been through that, it’s part of owning a business. So onward and downward?? Don’t laugh...I’m truly not downward for long! 😜 All the best, I know you’ll figure it all out!! ❤️

Thanks, friends! I am an expert in the area of supervisor for our company and I oversee about 11 homes along with my administrators. Since it is one of my homes that lost the supervisor- I know that I am going to be the one to fill it. It just irritates me because why not a note saying- this is where things stand. I'm not asking for an apology or even a reason- just simply- this is what I am in the middle of that you need to complete. I wish I could retire, but it's not an option. The paperwork aspect of the job is easy peasy and I love telling other people what to do- both at work and at home- the part that makes it difficult is the call-ins. It is supervising the people who do direct care and if they don't show- then I have to do it. I don't have a problem with jumping in and taking care of things. I can shower, pass medication, feed people- whatever it entails- I just hate that I can go in at 8 a.m. and then get screwed and have to work someone's 2nd shift or even worse- 3rd shift.... that's when it's hard. No sense fretting about something I can't control.

Thanks, Crazy! I hope I'm not making excuses for eating. I intend to do very well this month. Sometimes being busy at work really works in my favor as far as not eating too much. And typically when I grab McDonald's I see a loss the next day because it usually ends up being a low calorie day overall. I haven't used my running shoes for running. I haven't had much nice weather. Last Sunday was fairly warm and I raked 15 bags of leaves and picked up a winter's worth of dog poop. And today is to be close to 60. I walked Buster 3 miles- considered running and then backed down. :) Soon though. I am glad that I can use the gym and exercise to combat my stress instead of a chinese buffet which I have so loved to do in the past. I'd have a shit day at work and bury myself in 3 plates of buffet. Yum but sad. Anyhow- thanks everyone for the kind words.

Sorry to hear about all of this getting thrown your way. Hope next month goes well, I also like it when gym and exercise become a good way to deal with stress taking place of food. And your build up good metabolism and outlook will help as well

Hope you can not over-do it. Not a good thing to tax a system that is trying to heal. Take care of yourself!

I hope the rest of your staff show up as scheduled this month, and emergencies are few. Sorry you’re having this to deal with. Train when you can, warm up well and don’t get injured on top of everything else.
