Almost back to the lowest weight 'this time' - but this will likely be temporary as I've been in the kitchen on my feet for 6 hours now. So I'm expecting a repeat of the past week. The Texas Twinkies are all stuffed with a variety of meats and cheeses, wrapped in bacon & ready for the oven. The beautiful voice of Andrea Bocelli fills my house mingling in with the aroma of simmering chili. Hoping the Cowboys show us a better game today. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

PS - if you've ever wondered how many times you have to wash your hands (after processing 3 dozen jalapeno peppers) in order to remove your contact lenses without scorching your eyes.... it's more than six. I don't know how many more. I just know more. I'll probably have these in thru Christmas.

never heard of a Texas Twinkie, but sounds like something I'd be interested in 🆒

Dawg - they'll show up w/a google search if you're interested. I've used beef, shrimp & chicken and cream cheese seasoned with ranch or beefy onion soup mix. Wrap in bacon & bake. Then watch 'em disappear. I used the pulp & seeds from the peppers in the chili.

Ohhhh mmmmm. I’d love to try Texas twinkies!!!! Sounds really good!!! And I love chili as much as I love beans. Question:I heard Texans do not put kidney beans I their chili??!! Is this true or a myth?

In not I

Oh, Wifey .. you just hit upon the quirk that almost had me call off the wedding when Cutty insisted I put kidney beans in chili. It just seemed so wrong. (He was from Michigan) I did not put beans in chili at all, but IF I did, it was pinto beans. But.. for the sake of the marriage... ya know.

If I ever met a Texan putting kidney beans in their chili voluntarily, I'd insist upon seeing their birth certificate.

So...I’ve never had chili in my life with kidney beans. Always wondered if this was true down south. Bells says it is, therefore it’s true. But why??? Why is it a sin??? 🤷🏻‍♀️🤪

Nice drop and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Ha - sin? No. Just..wrong. Oh so wrong. About the only time I ever saw kidney beans growing up was when they were in a 3-bean salad. And that wasn't very often. Maybe it was just my house?

Poo!! Meant to say I've never had chili without kidney beans. Ugh. Long day. Stress with hubby’s job, daughter has borderline frostbite, I had to drive home in a freak snowstorm which should have taken 15 minutes, took nearly 1.5 hours. It’s been a day!! But I’m thankful. I’m home, warm, fed, and alive.

But it’s so good, not wrong. I just told my kids what you said, they asked who on earth am I talking too?!?!?!HAHA!!! Bella beans!!! 😂😂🤪🤪

Oh my, yes, I am glad you are home safe too! I had that same thought yesterday. I'm a little lonely but am otherwise safe, warm, and well fed. That's a lot of blessing.

John - thank you. Wish your weight history was mine!

Awww.. you tell the kids BB says 'Happy Thanksgiving' and hope your daughter thaws out .. how do you treat borderline frostbite?

Awww Bells, I’d come over to keep you company if I lived near. But no, I was planted in the North and have my roots deep!! Borderline frostbite, we never dealt with it before but we gently warmed in warm water and keep them warm. She took a hit bath, got her warm Jammie’s on now, fluffy robe and slippers. Eating hot food. Key is to warm up and stay warm. She was at the bus stop waiting in this storm to go write a midterm and NO buses came, not one!!! She’s very mad!! She emailed her prof who is gracious enough to allow her to write it tomorrow! Phew!! It’s been a day, I’m going to go take a hot bubble bath and head to bed. Happy thanksgiving. I’m thankful for you Fullabella! ❤️❤️

wifey...glad she is okay! Fullabella...prepped chicken poppers (chicken stuffed with jalapeno and cream cheese, wrapped in bacon. I either wear gloves or put my right hand inside of a Ziploc bag. Helps a lot. Texan voting on chili...NO beans. I make El Cid chili with 3 kinds of meat (chorizo, browned steak or stew meat, ground beef), jalapeno, normal tomatoey goodness. Served with cheddar cheese and sour cream on top. NO BEANS in Texas chili. A blasphemy. My Nebraska/Colorado relatives put beans in...it is good, but it isn't "chili". :)

Yes, always gloves when dealing with hot peppers. Takes days for that stuff to go away.

I think, in Texas, it's against the law to put beans in chili.
