Back to taking Ambien again. The Rozerem didn't work for me. Also back to finding dishes on my nightstand and not remembering that I got back up and had a cup of tea and a slice of toast with peanut butter and butter on it (I could tell by the crumbs on the saucer!) Even without that, though, I was still over on my Calories. UGH! It feels like I'm NEVER going to get back on track! Started out this morning with a bowl of grapes AND an English Muffin with butter, peanut butter and jelly on it, and Diet Coke to drink. At least yesterday I got in 36oz of water -- better than I HAD been doing (which was ZERO water). I don't like the wishy-washy, negative, defeated person I've become! I think I'll go back to bed!

It's tough when you can't sleep or deal with insomnia. I take the generic version of Ambien once in awhile, but not often and never had the problem of not remembering in the morning. Your breakfast doesn't sound so bad. I had an English muffin with peanut butter on it yesterday and have often had Coke or Diet Pepsi for breakfast (or in the middle of the night, but remember it!). Don't give up - it sounds like you are taking some small steps.

Hi Debbie. I used to take Ambien and had a similar experience. Now I take Trazadone, and it works really well for me. No hangover in the morning, no more nightly "activities", no side effects. Actually, it's used by the troops when they fly overseas to help them sleep. Just a suggestion. Don't give up on yourself and try not to be too harsh on yourself ! You can do it!

Okay 4whirledpeas, that was a tease. What did you find that works for you? Help us please. I'm taking a low dose of gabapentin and it's helping.

When I took Ambien I got up at 5AM and changed my husband's abdominal wound dressing. I had already changed the dressing at 3am and argued with Jack and insisted he was wrong and I began to change it. I had no memory of any of this. Now I take Trazodone. I researched it when I couldn't sleep and read that it SHOULD be taken 3 hours before going to bed. I am now sleeping better. Stop weighing yourself everyday. I found I would reward myself when I lost at all. Now I weigh once a month when I accompany my husband to chemo. See what happens, write down what you will eat BEFORE YOU EAT IT. Please try I know you can do it. I am going to check and see what happens. So just DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm watching the impeachment hearing and I'm out for blood, so here goes. You need to take control, buck up and stop eating SHIT. You can eat all day if it makes you happy, but stop with the SHIT. Make a dozen hard boiled eggs, have some fat bombs, DON'T EAT GRAPES......you can berries(try frozen berries), dill pickles, olives, pork rinds, dry salmi, pepperoni and I'm sorry, in advance, if you're not doing KETO. So maybe this is something you may like. I hope I am getting to you. You will be so happy so do it "one day at a time", and plan what you'll do when the DEVIL tempts you. This is the best support system you'll ever find. Connect with someone who complains a lot and use some psychology on them and PAY IT FORWARD. Sometimes it just takes a friend to let you know that someone cares. We're here to let you know just that. No more whining. No more confessions of failure, or I will return an take away your privileges. No more TV, or cell, or car until you behave. Your alter ego has spoken. Okay?

Sounds like a change in meds would help. No experience with the type you all are discussing, but I do know how much a medication..wrong or at the wrong dose...can affect your life. Make that appointment ASAP with your doctor to change meds. Also, goal setting? You already know that bread is my version of cake...I don't let myself have it unless my caloric limit will allow it (sorry, no KETO advice here). Set yourself a goal. It sounds like eating is emotional somewhat for you. Going to bed earlier? You might not be tempted to eat late? Works sometimes for me. Hang in there, lady! XOXOXO

I apologize that my post was confusing. I am not taking medication. I cannot fall asleep on my own, but I can fall asleep if I wear a headband sleep mask with built-in speakers that allow me to listen to selected audio. This option may not work for everyone ... but it changed my life.
