If you’re new, trial and error. Know that you need more movement and track your foods, log EVERYTHING!! You don’t realize the amount of calories you’re actually eating. Try what others are doing but stick to what works for you!! IDC what WOE(way of eating) it is. I was on a roll even when weight slowed down and guess what???? Plateaus are a real thing and the slower the weight loss the better. I dropped at one point 54 pounds finding what works for MY BODY. What works for MY BODY is LCHF, Mediterranean, eating 2-3 dinners a week like pizza( but I could never eat more than 2 slices and that’s just me), casserole night. A week or more Keto, mostly LCHF. No, I don’t pee on strips and there is nothing wrong if you do. I will NEVER shame your WOE. If you ask for help, I am here. I purposely the last 2 weeks was over the drama of CICO., LCHF, KETO.....all of it. Yes , CICO works if you can do calories in and calories out. CICO is not just counting calories. Counting calories is just counting calories. Flexible eating, it works, for some... Calorie deficit weekly, eat what you want.... ok but what if you don’t go to the gym? What if you’re insulin resistant? What if you’re type II diabetic, what if you’re Type 1??? Move as much to your ability and more, if you’re not disabled. Push yourself!! What if you have a heavy history of both? What if .... what if I found my personal WOE after feeling overwhelmed when I first got here, because people were arguing then too , and found what worked for me within 2 months?? ❤️❤️❤️🤷🏻‍♀️ So, the past 2 weeks, I tried flexible eating, and it wasn’t all bad choices. I did allow cake for breakfast one day at work, when I hardly eat it at my kids birthday parties since joining. Sensible lunch, didn’t know what the heck I wanted for dinner, but knew I didn’t want to be starving late at night. Work had an ice cream social. ( once a year thing) it was a Carmel kind of day, at least for breakfast ( which I did fast) lunch not high calorie, and salted caramel ice cream before 6 pm and omg.... it fit in my weekly deficit!! I also increased sandwich uptake for lunch on freaking 45 calorie a slice bread. If I eat it I log it🙌 look for advice, try different things. I guarantee you that the negativity on here regarding WOE doesn’t apply to YOUR BODY or YOUR Chemical makeup, and thermodynamics ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL. It’s not the first time I have said this. I ate how I ate for 2 weeks and look at my gain and I did IF per my usual, most days of the week. I don’t withhold logging. As of Monday night at dinner, I’m back to doing me. Flex eating and a weekly deficit, look at my weight, by just simply eating whatever as long as I was in a weekly deficit!! . I promised to be more transparent.... well, here you go. Try everything, but don’t regain massive amounts of weight doing it. You will find what works for you. If people want to keep arguing let them. I’m barely 9 months here and I had my Woe after 2 months. IDC if I get ripped apart for this✌️ I’m not pushing a certain WOE on anyone. Different strokes for different folks. I hit a low and now I’m paying for it. Any WOE that works for you and is sustainable, and you’re happy and losing weight and supporting others and offering advice when asked and moving to the best of your ability and if not disabled, push harder, if you’re not doing drugs or vomiting food on purpose or abstaining from eating you can do this. Listen to advice, know YOUR BODY and come to a method that suits you. What’s pathetic is, the argument will go on. Be kind to yourself and your body. Be kind to others. It doesn’t really feel good to be mean or a right sided fighter, and no one here who continues to push a WOE, on any side has come forward as being a physician or human biologist. Btw, me doing what I did the past 2 weeks, results will differ and many will correlate and many will not. I won’t do this again to myself. Mentioning again, that my doing this was based off of the ridiculous arguments. I’m a lover of science, already know our chemical makeup differs, knew what works for me but hey, lets go all in. Got tired of the arguing. Put it to the test for my own self. Either step up with a pertinent degree in human biology.....all sides, or fall back and do you. Now off to Onederland and doing me, it’s my journey 1st because I deserve better health, and my family needs me. It should be all of our journeys for health and wellness and support others. Can’t “ weight” to log in at the end of the month. ❤️💕💪❤️❤️ yourself. Eat accordingly to what works for you..... 🍎🍏🍐🍉🍊🍋🍓🍑🍅🥝🍒🍓🥑🥑🥦🌶🌽🥒🥬🥕🌽🌽🌽🌽🌶🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🍠🥐🥔🥯🍞🧀🥨🥖🦴🥩🥚🧀🍔🥩🌭🦴🥪🥘🥫🥙🌮🍔🌮🌮🍟🍗🍕🍖🍳🍳🍳🍳🍳🥗🌯🍜🍝🥫🍣🍣🍙🥮🍡🍘🍱🥟🍥🍧🍤🥠🍨🎂🍰🧁🥧🍦🍨🍧🥠🍥🍡🥧🍩🍪🥜🍿🍫🍬🥛🥛☕️🍵🍷🥂🍻🍺🥃🍸🍹🍾🥄🥡🥣. I am carb sensitive, I also know I need to move my ass. I don’t believe in restricting as I never felt like I was dieting anyways because I had a happy and working WOE. Don’t judge someone eating cakes and donuts like 5 in a row as they bust ass in the gym and carbs don’t affect them, and don’t judge bacon and eggs and butter as it’s not the only food LCHF and Keto do. Balance is key and understanding your body is key, the food pyramid is important. It doesn’t mean our flat bottom and the pinnacle top is equal. ☮️❤️ respect and best wishes❤️

Not just a biology expert but math experts as well! LOL. Just for s#!+s and giggles interested folks may want to consider looking up multivariate analysis/approximation and regression analysis.

Great post, covering many bases but ... Please: paragraph breaks? My old eyes don't track long blocks of text as well as they used to!

Great advice girl. I like your statement "carb sensitive" I love em, but they don't love me (simple carbs that is). They make me feel puffy and inflamed, achy, stiff and irritable. On the days I eat better carbs and less of them, I feel lighter and no water retention. Anyway...great advice. Being aware of what you eat and increased activity are key for me. We're all wired differently, especially our minds, so what makes/keeps you healthy...is all you not everyone. Thanks for a great read.

Thanks Court😘❤️ Oh and yes there is a lot that goes into it.

AMT, I'd sooner be able to spell "multivariate analysis/approximation and regression analysis" backward than actually do it! I use a calculator to keep my checkbook! LOL!

Regarding paragraph breaks... I try to break mine and most times it doesn't work. I believe it depends on if you're using your phone app or a computer.

Sorry Mira. I had a lot to say in a short period of time. With3 demanding courses... I mean children ❤️❤️❤️ And 3 demanding courses and a hubby and 12.75-14 hour shifts, I’m just not on here except mornings when I’m hyped up on coffee before work and school. I mostly focus on supporting others and welcoming people, because it’s not worth it to be nasty. And I won’t participate in it period anymore. There’s absolutely no need for it. I also will remove myself from posts that get shitty because that’s not actually me and I have a lot of life out side of here. I also value the life I gained here. I have to pick what I like best here at FS and that’s my health and new friends, and being supportive, but also not being the newbie and wanting to fit in regardless of WOE. I choose health and kindness and being a friend or support. I’d rather burn my calories cheering people on than being a jerk . Especially since there are like 50 new people a day.

Kissingangelgirl, whether on my computer or on my phone, when doing an original "Journal" entry, the paragraph breaks show up. In "Comments," para. breaks never show.

Um ... I just thought, "ENTER key" every so often. That's all.

One more thing... everyone 💨 regardless of Woe. keto or LCHF is not going to give you rotten crotch smh. That’s just poor hygiene or it’s sweat. Same if you eat what u want and calorie count. Whatever, my WOE is clearly PH balanced because before the last 2 weeks, during, and this week...... JC is and has always been desert for hubby🤷🏻‍♀️. I’m not PC, I’m not a jerk. I’m just me. That post about 💨 and smelly cookie jars was flat out freaking ridiculous, but uneducated. Anyone lady on any WOE can either be fresh or a dirty hamster.

After a settling point, you will begin to lose again if you're in a deficit.

Going from low carb to flexible will always result in a gain. Glycogen stores will fill up. If I did keto for a week, I'd be in the 170's quickly, would it be my true weight though? No, it would be my glycogen depleted weight.

Well said JC. 💚💛💜

Yup, your calories are almost always higher than you expect before logging! (I find it easier to post on my laptop. 💻)

I thought if glycogen fills up too much it turns to fat?
05 Sep 19 by member: AboutMyTribe
Well, your body can store 1800-2500 calories of carbs in glycogen stores. If you surpass that in one day, your body MAY convert carbs to fat but in a normal mixed diet, you will store the fat you ingest before you would ever convert carbs to fat.
