Amazingly made it down to 220.6 at 3:30 PM. I am absolutely empty after some good movement so that adds to the number. Four straight days of veggies will do it!

Bill, I visited the website you suggest in your profile and I find it excellent. Everybody should know about it! I am going to recommend it to Spanish FS users. Going to your post: why do you do days of only veggies?

Hello, Eva! The veggie only days are called the Fasting Mimicking Diet by Dr. Valter Longo. He claims it is a way to get the benefits of fasting without having to go totally without food. Seems to work for weight loss but I have to say I have not validated it via any blood work or anything. It just helps me hit my monthly average calorie target. Thanks, Erika! I'm sure I will be there for a while.

I’ve read Longo’s book and I think I’ll follow the FMD someday. I'm also convinced of its benefits. However, right now I don't feel I could eat so little for so many days in a row. But I’ve been following the 5:2 diet for a couple of weeks and I am getting used to the idea and sensations of eating small quantities for a limited time. Will you share some tips for beginners? 🙏🏻😄

Hello, Eva. My best secret, I think, is that I usually eat low carb every day. Not quite keto, but close. For me at least, eating carbs causes a lot of hunger due to glucose spikes. I rarely get truly hungry anymore. So I can wait until the evening and then eat all the 800 calories in one sitting (although that is not required for FMD). My body's ability to easily run on my fat stores helps quite a bit.

Thanks, Bill! That's interesting. I eat way more carbs than you, although usually well below the typical 50% of classic recommendations. I wonder if that will be a problem for me. I’ll keep it in mind if I decide to experiment with the FMD.
