Debbie Cousins's Journal, 12 Feb 19

Yesterday was another bad (very bad!) day, but today (SO FAR - 2:12pm) is going much better. I got in my 3 bottles (48-oz) of water before noon (and then had a Diet Coke), but will go back to water when it is finished. Today is my husband's birthday and he wanted Wendy's burgers and McDonald's fries. I need to see if I can figure out how to enter the TWO french fries I ate. I had my burger without the bun or ketchup. For all of this week, I will be reporting my weight DAILY, to help keep me more accountable. I also made an appointment with my psychotherapist for next Wednesday (first available) to help deal with the increased depression. If "talking" to him about things doesn't "fix" anything, I will make an appointment with my PCP to see about a medication adjustment.

Wonderful that you are looking to address the root cause. For many of us food is about so much more than calories or carbs. Happy good day! And I approve of your husband's choices

I'm lucky to have a standing appointment once a week I guess...she is too easy on me but...maybe she just doesn't want me to snap lolol. I'm feeling very "snap-ish" right now. When I eat out I can usually find it in the database but then I divide by however many fries there were. Which is why you often see 0.0007 of a serving of whatever it is I ate. I try to log it first so I can judge correctly or I weigh it if I'm just eating two of someone else's food. That way I can say 2g of McD's fries. Lol I'm kind of ridiculous about it and it's the only thing that the kids don't like or get cranky about..."why you gotta log 3 chocolate chips mom?!?!?!?" I admit I'm a little obsessive about it but...I really need to know where I'm messing up so that I can plan for it if need be. I need 3 choc. chips today so where can I trim up the carbs elsewhere so it doesn't derail me. Although that doesn't help you because of the keto thing. I am only supposed to be under 85 carbs so I have a little more room to wiggle.

Good for you for working out how to stay on track. 😊

Returning to my psychotherapist for a weekly appointment since the second week of January has really helped support my resolve. Normally serious and of "melancholy humor," I have been uncharacteristically optimistic lately. I hope it'll help you as well, Debbie,

I had been going to the same guy every week for several months until November, when I had to miss an appointment (to go to Boston for a week to visit a friend in the hospital). I just never called back after that. Now that I have the appointment set, I guess I better check with the new health insurance carrier to make sure my guy is covered!
