Draglist's Journal, 07 Apr 18

Woke at 214.2, down 6.0 from yesterday. Up several times last night to get rid of extra water. Not surprised by this as I stopped taking Lasix on weeknights in April, so there was a lot of stored water to lose. I got a good sleep in as well after a pretty light sleep schedule during the week. Today, I'm beginning my monthly five-day Fasting Mimicking Diet (FMD) schedule, but with a twist. I'm only eating one meal a day (OMAD) starting today. So will eat 1100 calories for dinner at about six, and then four days of 800 calorie dinners. After that, I will return to 1500 calorie dinners at keto macros. UPDATE: Fasted until after 6 pm, and then had 1164 calories of veggies, nuts, seeds, and olive oil per FMD guidelines. Before that, I weighed in at 216.2. Gained two pounds today despite not eating! But that's called rehydration. Waking weight is the low for the day and the week. Was going to check blood ketones before dinner but forgot. Will do it in the morning if I remember. Will fast until dinner tomorrow.

OMAD made the daily weigh-in good fun. Steady drop. A group of people in Pakistan easily live till 120 years, and can have babies in their sixties. All due to their fasting routine. Amongst scientists, it is well known that lab rats live a lot longer with a less frequent feeding schedule. Every now and then I feel tempted to get one of those Tanita scales, but do still feel sceptical. Do you feel the numbers provided make sense?

Have you looked at the Facebook group “common sense keto”?They are extreme but many people there swear by it after weight loss stalls with less strict keto diets. Request to be added then read the pinned posts to learn their theory—it’s interesting even if you choose not to follow their plan...No calorie deficits, no sweeteners, no fasting allowed, 20 total carbs, lower end protein and really high fats etc. good luck!!

For the past two weeks I have been doing a three day a week liquid only fast where I take in about 300-600 calories drinking bone broth.

@Draglist - It makes you feel full. So I can "fast" without feeling hungry. After the first day I am simply-not-hungry until I eat solid food (so I put off eating anything solid for as long as I feel it is healthy to do so). I drink "LonoLife Chicken Bone Broth Powder" but it does not taste so great so I mix in "LonoLife Master Cleanse (Lemonade Diet)" with it and it "cuts" the taste with its string cayenne pepper and then it is quite pleasant. - - But, here is the real point, I feel better during this time than I do on the days I am eating solid food. You are the one that convinced me to actually give fasting a try so thanks for that!

I’m a member but haven’t followed their strict guidelines—a bit extreme for me but maybe if I have a serious weight loss stall😉 just thought of it when you mentioned your stall after staying below calories. Hope you find something that works for you!
