Draglist's Journal, 28 Mar 16

Just got home from Ohio. Haven't eaten anything and broke my fast at 2 pm. Before that, I weighed in. As feared, over 220. I weighed 221.2 to be exact. That's 203.4 to 221.2 from Friday through Sunday, folks. One 2000 calorie day and two 3000 calorie days. But the water is moving out again and let's see if we can get back on track with four straight sub-1000 calorie days. UPDATE: Up to 222.4 from 221.2 after dinner. Up 13.3 in water weight and 3.5 in body fat compared to the pre-weekend readings. Do not have a workout in me tonight. Let’s see what we have for a waking weigh in.

I know you will drop this lickety split (bet you haven't heard that in a while)!

I am the same way Bill - I gain water weight when I eat wheat flour and too much sugar! That is an amazing water gain, isn't it? I was just wondering if you were near a gym that might have a sauna where you could go and sweat out the fluid. Running used to help me shed fluid, too. I remember my shirt being drenched after a good run. Hugs!

You know what to do. I was just thinking of what you might do to get rid of some of the fluid fast.

What the heck is Lasix??? I use it on our horses before they race - controls bleeding I think. Sorry, just funny for me to see Lasix used in the context of humans - I hope it's a different Lasix...

How the heck does that happen!?

You've done it quickly before and no doubt you'll do it again!

They are very strong diuretics, they gave them to me once when I had fluid built up in my lungs. Severe muscle cramps is one of the side effects. Unless you suffer from chronic edema I would stay away from them.

That's incredible Bill! Your body has such an ability to retain water that's totally amazing! But you drop it almost as soon as you get it which is also amazing.

You will be down in no time!

I have only ever taken them that one time Drag, if you do take them, make sure you don't wander far from a bathroom for several hours, I made the mistake of getting up and walking around the nurses station a couple of times and the urge to go hit me so hard and fast I didn't make it to the restroom, there was no stopping it at all. Quite embarrassing.

Bill, the carb and water bloat hits us all a little differently. Maybe you were a bit dehydrated to start with and/or you picked up more sodium the last few days than normal. For sure you didn't gain that much fat or muscle. A few weeks ago, I had three birthdays in a row with deserts, etc...my weight jumped 9lbs,in 36 hrs, it was a very unnerving experience. Three days later I was back to set weight less 1/2 lb, very relieved, hope you see the same!!

Good thing is you refocus, get back to it, and lose the weight quickly. Looks like mostly water anyway.

It's amazing how quickly the water gain can happen. It's similar with me just not as extreme. Good luck getting the water out Bill, I know you will do it and be back on the track you were headed.

Happy that you had a great Easter visit with your family. I know that you're not worried. Its pretty much physically impossible to gain 20 lb of fat in a few days. So, as you know, its all just carb bloat. A few days back on plan and you'll be right back where you were. I planned for just such a contingency. I weighed in on Friday instead of Sunday. That way when I bloated up from Good Friday dinner, Saturday pre-Easter snacking and a great big Easter meal, I'd have a full week to get the water weight off before my next weigh-in. Hope you have a great week.

I took the Lasix, Bill, for a long time after I first got the Edema down in my ankles and legs. It was freaky .. the water weight and heaviness. The fluid does go away, along with potassium and anything else that is water soluble. Drink warm lemon water in the morning, take B-Complex vitamins, eat low carb foods (no starches, no sweets) and do exercises that break a sweat ... just old fashioned know-how.
