Draglist's Journal, 11 Mar 16

Woke up at 212.2, up .8 from yesterday. Got my weekly meds a day early this week, so watching the water retention. Discussed with the doc. Got compression leggings on the way (thanks to Mahjohn) and going to see if those help. Doc may prescribe single dose diuretic (Lasix or something) if we keep having the issue. Weight is up 5-10 pounds on average over the past few weeks due to that extra water. UPDATE: Finally got off the laptop and onto the report reading. Was able to get 86 minutes of walking in today. A few at 4 mph, but mostly at 3 mph. No big sweat generating and spent most of the time in the fat burning zone instead of cardio or peak, but I got in the 10K steps and 6 miles already. Anything else is gravy. Got a 210.4 weigh in. Will take my first meal at 2:30 (I was waiting to get the fasted workout in!) Nothing but water so far today, not even coffee or coconut oil. Time to EAT! Targeting 1646 calories.

Bill One of my blood Pressure pills is HCTZ 25mg which is a diuretic..They may try that first depending ofcourse on your medical situation. Good news on the HCTZ is a cheap drug-been around since the 1970's, actually cheaper to pay in cash vs insurance- If you get it prescribe and want to deal with the hassle, walmart has 90day supply for $4. Great Job onSuper Weight Loss, 212 is great... You are still close to Maintenance

Your right on with activity and calories in. I know that meds can mess with things and cause water retention....I suppose at some point that's got to give, get flushed out?

I hate that your meds are causing you to retain more water than usual. Sometimes the cure is worse than the problem. Ha! Will you be on meds forever or this just a temporary thing? Hugs!

Bill, I've been on a diuretic for years. I took Lasix for a long time, but I've been on Torsemide (Demedex) for many years now. I'm very pleased with the results. If you start taking a loop diuretic, just make sure that you are near a commode for a few hours after taking it.

Water only, long interval time, lower heart rate & no HIIT...sounds suspiciously like a Fat Burning session :-) Have a great day Bill!
