Hard stuff ..... It's time to look ahead .... Walk gentle knowing that today everything is different.

Your memories of your brother will help you through the days to come. They'll probably hurt at first, but in time they will be a comfort that you look forward to.

Thanks. Still stony about it, but it will hit me soon. Started the day fresh. Guests are all gone and will throw away a lot of the "party" type food in the house.

I'm so sorry for your loss! Maybe now that your house is empty you can grieve.

I love what Glen said - simple and true! Walk gentle indeed. Thinking of you and your stoic nature - it will help you as you come to terms with the loss.

Thanks, Jenn. I have found myself a little tightly wound this past week or so. Easy to anger and frustrate... but working on it.

I hope that your life can return to some sense of normalcy. Working out can help with the grieving process and help get some of that anger and frustration out.

Thanks, Skwhite. We will get there...

No one can tell you how to grieve. No one can make the grieving process easier. Eventually, you wake up and realize it doesn't hurt as much.

Thanks. I do find myself in a bit of a funk, but will get back to work this week and that will keep me busy as I have a TON of things to catch up on, including giving a speech this Wednesday! I've been asked to present for 45 minutes to an hour, so gotta get ready!

What exactly is it you do for a living? I'm not trying to hijack your thread, I've just always been curious.

Hi. I'm the Director of IT Standards at DHS. I write and implement the policy and procedures that folks follow when building or buying IT solutions (along with lots of collaboration with other offices). Been in the job for a year after doing the same thing at ICE for several years. Bound and determined to get a handle on these programs.

Ok pardon my ignorance, DHS Developmental health services? And ICE frozen liquid you put in a drink? I didn't realize it needed IT support. International Chicken Elixir? yuk, no International Clerical Espionage? Are you a spy? I KNEW IT! You are very James Bond.

It's ok I make up words and fill in the blanks just to amuse you. Oh see that rhymed.

Sorry, Department of Homeland Security. Yes, we do overuse acronyms here in DC!
