Draglist's Journal, 18 Jun 14

Day three of 1600 calories (well, that was the target, anyway). Ate 600 during breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack, and then went out to dinner and a show. Had a terrific, indulgent dinner at the Kennedy Center Rooftop Terrace restaurant, including drinks, appetizers, wine, and dessert. Definitely need an adjustment day tomorrow. Up to 208.2 tonight, but massive high water levels. Will probably dehydrate up nicely overnight. I know that my water levels and muscle mass are now registering TOO high because I've BEEN down to 200.2 and I know I'm not at 10 percent body fat yet! No workout tonight as we were out on the town!

Here are the 6/18/14 Tanita Numbers (post-dinner, no workout):

You're not planning too drastic a cutback from now until a week from now, in order to make your goal for June 24th, your two year anniversary? I know you were really bound and determined to hit that date, but would you reconsider and stretch it out to the 4th of July? I'm still trying to get there myself and wondering if I will have to buy myself another two weeks to my birthday on July 18th. After all, you can't stop living life just to hit a date. Dinner sounds like it was AMAZING!

When I starved myself in the past because I ate too much the day before never ended well because I would binge after a few days. Stay strong Bill. When I go out and hang out with friends and family I don't have a problem with staying within mu RDI because I don't like to drink alcohol, that has a lot of calories. When you just offer me to drink beer I cringe.

so what do you drink Snezica? i'm wondering what else is available besides a glass of wine or water which is what I usually stick to.

When I'm not on a diet than I like a sprite or coke but now I drink sparkling water, tea or a diet drink

How do I say this without sounding self-righteous. I've kind of moved past food as a means of celebration. I enjoy food, but I enjoy being healthy and hitting my goals more. When there's good food coming, I usually manage cut hard in order to allot for the calories. That is, I take out the calories prior to the excess. That way I can eat, enjoy it to the fullest and know that I don't have to pay for it in the future because it's already paid for. I guess I approach it like it's a purchase. I save the money and then buy the thing. If I buy it on credit, it's too easy. Credit tends to get away on a person.

Honestly, Bill, I think 1600 calories is too low for you. I think your bodies is locking up the fat. My hard cut at 175 pounds is 1800 calories and that's 3 days a week. the others are 2400 and one 2200. I'm finding that the higher calories do not hurt me and I keep losing. The key... consistencey, not 'fix it later'. This is even more important if someone has sugar issues.

Do you actually have a tanita scale that gives you all of that info? If so what kind is it? I have a tanita for weight and I love it.

That's fine, Bill. It's just... the way you're doing it is the way I used to do it. That's how I dropped my weight the last time and then got back to 230. It's all just a suggestion.
