Delicious double chopped salad with chicken from Subway tonight. 240 kcal + sub sauce (haven’t calculated that yet.)
But I will be making my own from now on. Salad came to more than my son’s foot long Buffalo chicken sub. No exotic ingredients in it either. Stuff I usually have in the fridge.
Valuable lesson learned. Again.

Good to learn a new dinner idea I guess! I love chicken salad 🙂

There was a place in Toronto called "Bubs subs" that made amazing hot subs. Pretty much take your bun. A panini etc works best. Hollow it out a bit, layer the inside with havarti etc. Then grill diced onion, celery, meat of choice all cubed. (Add a tsp water if it gets dry as you grill it) Some salt pepper & stuff it in the bun. It melts the cheese and its soooo good and done these at home many times its super easy. Idk calories etc but beats most take out subs hands down anyday.

Wanna get healthy: My salad came with (all approximate) 2c spinach, 1/2c green peppers, 1/2c tomato, 1/2c cucumbers, 1/2c sweet onions, 1/4c salad dressing (waaay too much but it was delicious,) and about 1 small grilled and seasoned chicken breast. I didn’t get shredded cheddar but that’s a tasty addition. … just in case you want to make this at home. I would cut the dressing to 2 oz. max. Calories in my dressing were *twice* what was in the rest of the salad!

There are alot more healthy choices at Subway. A lot of there subs are under 300 calories.

yep. every restaurant I go to I end up dismantling the recipie I love mentally and just buying the ingredients to make it myself. 😌

A footlong Buffalo Chicken Sub at Subway is 660 calories.

I meant the salad was as much money as the big sub. Turns out the calories are virtually the same too after adding the sub sauce.
