Ames1717's Journal, 01 Jun 21

First I would like to say thanks to everyone for the kind words of encouragement. I did weigh in this morning before work and was up again...I was disappointed but also a little more determined to get back on track 100%. I have reviewed my weight loss so far and when I was seeing the scale moving what I was doing those days in regards to number of calories eaten vs. exercise etc. It seems if I have one day around 1200 calories and the next around 1500-1600 and then the next 1200 again the scale seems to move... I have also noticed my carbs are a little high, not over my recommended amount but maybe a little higher then they should be. I was also looking up some information about the different metabolic types... when I completed a couple online quizzes mine comes back as fat protein efficient. Does anyone have any experience with metabolic types as this is all new to me..

Your plateau partner here 👋 I also looked at a 1200 calorie diet in an attempt to break my plateau. I found out that it’s medically hazardous, even for smaller women; with very real long term health risks. Plus, our bodies will * vigorously* resist shedding weight at that level. A much safer, but still rapid, level is 8 X your goal weight. Yours would be 1760. Mine is 1560. I’m usually pretty close to that. It’s scary going up in calories (it was for me too) but we don’t want to lose our health along with the weight! It’s ok to increase your exercise somewhat at the new level, and absolutely vital to drink lots of water. Our bodies need it for the weight loss process. No one loses weight every day, and everyone hits a plateau at some point. The stories of our FS friends will bear this out. It’s temporary! Provided we keep going, it will be for us, too. We just need to keep at it.
