My husband is trying to kill my diet!!! He’s been home for2 weeks now and his 24/7 snacking and munch, munch, crunch, crunch, smack, smack , sip, sip is driving me nuts and making me soooooo hungry. I admitted to him that I had a huge craving for chips and luckily we didn’t have my favourite kind. He went out and bought 6 bags of freaking chips; 4 of my favourite kind!!!!! He’s always complained about my favourite kind but when I got upset at him bringing them home he changed his story and said he really likes them. I was having a really hard time last night and he tried to convince me that one bag wouldn’t hurt me. Y’all, I almost gave in!!!! What gives you guys strength against cravings??

I am a religious person but never thought of praying over cravings 🙏 I will definitely add this into my daily prayers. Thank you!!

Let yourself have a controlled portion. Use your scale and have one serving (only one!)

It has to be something you can maintain and live with

What Groatmeal said - portion it. Also, tell your husband to stop going out for non-essential reasons and stay home. This isn't helping stop the spread of the virus.

We needed groceries (essential) and he got chips at the same time. We’re nice and stocked up for the foreseeable future!

Groat: I’m so close to my goal that I’m being very strict on my calories. Chips wouldn’t fit in. Once I hit my goal I’m going to let myself float between 120 and 130, so I’ll have lots of opportunities to eat the yummy foods!

Fair enough camaltar! I do have some foods I avoid as well when I’m being strict!

Hi Camaltar! Are you eating enough? Is your food diary correct as it shows less than 300 calories/10g protein per day? If yes, why so little food?

Luv lite: I’m definitely not great about inputting my days food except for dinner. I do keep track of my daily cals and make sure I don’t go over. I had no idea other people could look up my food diary. If I knew that I would have kept a more accurate diary!!

Whew! good to know, Camaltar! LOL I was worried when I saw the <300 calorie days!!!!! hahahahaha I wish I could help you with the cravings: I just ate 20 x 28g bags of chips in a week, so I def do not have "portion control" of trigger foods mastered! I heard the chips calling my name (and Oreos). I cannot have in house. Maybe put your husband's chips & snacks in a big container saying OFF Limits? out of sight, out of mind? or keep out of pantry (hide in basement or garage). We just have to want Health more than the food. You are allowed any food you want - in controlled portions but if you are like me, I have to avoid certain foods, maybe 99% of the time, because I will eat huge amounts. No food is leaving the planet; you can enjoy at another time, it's not denying treats, it's choosing Health. You got this! Almost 60 pounds down! wooooohoooooo :)
