Slight gain, but it was expected. I was not at my mom's place this week, but at home eating what I usually eat. I still have this snacking habit, but I think it is not as bad as before.

My sister is still doing really well almost 2 weeks after her surgery. She is still young (younger than I am), so a fast recovery is expected. She has friends that can help her out for the heavy stuff, which is a relief because she has to take it easy for the next 4 weeks. My mother doesn't live really close to her and she is too frail to help out much. And I live too far away from her area.

I am so happy because the hospital to which my doctor's office faxed a request for a consultation for a uterine fibroid embolization already called me for an appointment! This is really fast for Quebec health care standards! Based on my past experience, even in Ontario (Ottawa to be specific) it would have taken more time. They told me that they have more than one radiologist doing consultations, which explains the short wait for the call. My appointment is next week. They may have to perform a MRI some time in the future. At least I will know whether I am actually eligible for an embolization. If I am, I guess they will do the embolization in the upcoming months. If not, then I will have to decide whether to go ahead with a hysterectomy or wait it out until menopause. The appointment will be in Montreal, so a good part of that day will be driving to the hospital and back. As far as I know they don't do embolizations in Gatineau.

My systolic blood pressure is still too high in the mornings, despite what my doctor says. When I last had a medication adjustment back in Sept-Oct 2018, my BP was optimal in the mornings (under or close to 120). This week was better overall than last week, even though my BP was too often in the 130s or even 140 last Monday. When it is high, I wait for a little while and take it again to see whether it is a fluke. Sometimes it goes down (on Monday, it went from 140 to 125), other times it stays the same (e.g. 130 to 129, 137 to 135). But this morning, it was at 119/72! An optimal systolic for once! I didn't want to jinx it so I didn't take a measurement again! In the meantime, I ordered online some hawthorn supplementation to assist my medication and I should receive it sometime next week. Let's hope it helps!

Weather-wise, the announced weekend forecast changes all the time for my area. They mentioned a 15 to 20 cm snowfall earlier, then they changed it to freezing rain beforehand and snow afterwards (10ish cm, not sure). In any case, more shovelling exercise for me and my BP. It is currently overcast and it is still the calm before the storm. :)
