Draglist's Journal, 29 Oct 18

Woke at 228.6, down 5.6 from yesterday as I enter day three of a water fast. Heading into work and feeling great although I did not get quite three hours of sleep due to some unfinished projects and an unexpected early meeting. Will do coffee and water at least until dinner. UPDATE: Coffee in the morning and 20 ounces of water at lunch and that was a wrap for the day. Slept on the bus coming home and getting ready for my podcast. Just got a 227.0 weigh in. Going to extend the fast another day at least. UPDATE: Talked to Jamie Fowler, who was very impressive. He had polio as a child, but got to finish 16th in the Arnold Challenge in bodybuilding, and then transitioned to drag racing where he competes in one of the top classes today. Great guy who reminded me that anything can be overcome! PS. Just checked my blood ketones and purring along at 1.6 mm -- nutritional ketosis. Not hungry at all, but then I am giving my body a bounty of body fat to feast on!

Good job! Good luck with your fast! Honestly, I think the 'mental hope' that a fast brings me is what is most effective. No matter how much I get off track, I know I always have a tool that will 'move things in the direction I want to go'. Otherwise I can become discourages and lose hope.
