I haven’t had this in years! Beef liver & onion with just a tbsp of corn flour gravy.
Delicious and under 450 cal for the entire dinner.

Ty fleur... I actually love to cook as much as I love to eat lol. As for the liver... it’s not easy to get here (I’m currently living in the Canadian Arctic) and last year when I was living in England... well just I’m pianos to get beef, I only found chicken or pork. Couldn’t bring myself to taking the chance... I like my liver moo’ing lol

Hi Kelly, I'm new here and not sure how to navigate this site yet but are you on a keto diet? I have been on one now for over 3 weeks maybe even a month and I have not seen ANY change at all. I know when you reach 50+ it becomes very hard and I am 53 but I've been sooo good and not cheated once. Do you have any advice or suggest a group to follow....any help would be really appreciated.

Hi Gigipoppy No I’m not on a Keto diet... I’m just kinda doing things my way. Keeping low cal and ‘trying’ to stay low carb. I’m a food addict, I am 47 years old and I have a humugus sweet tooth! I find that’s where FatSecret helps me... enables me to keep track of everything. As long as you honest in the amounts it really does work. I’ve tried stay to there recommend rdi. But that’s too high for me. Average between 1000-1200 calories a day. I’ve also tried lots of different mean plans... I found my way works better for me. I eat what I like... keep cards low as possible (but not drastically low) and I keep my size portions approach. Exercise helps a lot. I didn’t start jogging till just this year. I’m not up to tumnning 5-6 km a day n I love it. The only advise I can offer is is to find what works for your body and go with it. I’m alway here if you need to chat!

Hi Gigipoppy, could not help eavesdropping on your conversation with Kelly. I started Low-Carb about 3-4 weeks ago also. It's going much slower than it did for me in the past. Mind you I have been "bingeing" or at least overeating of the permitted food, it does not help. But yesterday, I thought I had lost 6 pounds & today am down only 3 pounds in almost 4 weeks. At my weight over 300 lbs, I'm used to losing very easily (water weight) in the beginning -- not this time around. I have not tried to restrict my food in 5 years, and I still don't want to restrict, I'm just hoping for the usual magical lost appetite due to ketosis. I'm not quitting, I am already feeling better in other ways, I know it is beneficial for my health. You say you have not cheated once. What guidelines are you following, are you down to 20 g of total carbs or are you using net carbs? I've been watching A LOT of videos by Dr. Phinney, Dr. Westman & others. I just got the Keto Clarity book from the library and I quite like it. I even just now tried the ice cream recipe (one half), did not work, did not become iced, but it was delicious anyway. ;-)

Hi Fleur, still trying to figure out how to respond directly to people lol. I'm not sure of all the lingo and I'm not following any specific diet other than eating high fat, protein, low/no carbs and vegetables. I feel good, I won't weigh myself but I know I'm still the same size as I was when I started. Not drinking water hasn't helped but I plan to incorporate more of it daily. I'm glad you're doing well!

Hi Kelly, thanks for your input...I guess I'm doing my own thing too but I might look into a nutritionist if that'll help. Thank you for offering your support cuz I'm going to need all the encouragement I can find. Not good at finding my way around this app. yet though. It too me a while to find out I had messages 🙄

It all takes time... I’m still discovering new bits in this app myself. If you Facebook you can pick up tips on their page and going to the main web site is alway very informative.

Gigipoppy & Kelly, I'm technologically challenged. I just took a photo of my salad, first time ever photographing my food. Don't know how to upload it or anything (if that is even the right word). (giggle) I'm also new to FS (Feb 27) Years ago, I used FitDay to log my food, & Sparkpeople for forums but I heard recently that FS has net carbs, so I started logging my food here instead. Don't know how to do things here either, Gigipoppy. Funny thing is, I came here to be able to get net carbs in my log, but after listening to experts, I decided to take only total carbs in account. But I like it here, I'm not going back to FitDay. I might even end up learning how to use the website properly (with barcode scans & everything).
